Amazing Food Pairs to Get Maximum Nutrition

    Body is a great example of excellent network and awesome teamwork. To let all the body organs to function seamlessly, we all know that we need nurture it good nourishing food. Did you know that you could maximize the assimilation of nutrients if you were to combine certain foods together? Certain vitamins and minerals interact with each other and may either boost or hinder the nutritional intake. Therefore knowing the foods pairs lets you get the maximum nutrition. Here, are three such food pairs.

    Vitamin C and Iron: If you are taking foods that are rich in Vitamin C or Iron by itself, then there are high chances that these elements are not being assimilated properly in the body. However, if you combine them, the results are powerful. You can double the quantity of absorption of these nutrients. For instance, you can get a good boost by drinking a glass of orange juice and have a bowl of whole grain cereals. You can add a dash of lemon juice to spinach, lentils or any other form of beans.

    Vitamin E and Healthy Fats: Vitamin E works as an antioxidant, which improves circulatory system, improves skin, promotes hair growth and protects the body by neutralizing the free radicals in the body. However, Vitamin E needs healthy fats if you need to maximize the absorption of this essential vitamin in the body. Nuts, seeds, spinach and whole grains are some excelled sources of Vitamin E. Combine these with avocado, olive oil, canola or flaxseed oil to derive the best benefits.

    Calcium and Vitamin D: Calcium is an essential nutrient that primarily takes care of the bones. However, it does need the presence of Vitamin D for better assimilation. Vitamin D helps to produce calcitrol, a hormone that acts as a calcium regulator in the body. It aids the absorption of calcium in the intestines and prevents the flush of calcium through urine. So do get a good dose of sunlight, nuts and oily fish when you have foods that are rich in calcium, such as dairy products, spinach and yogurt.
