Diet to reduce weight

    Hi.. I have tried it once. I lost almost 2 kgs in one week. I dont feel any side effects.
    Only thing,after i continued to take normal diet(my normal diet includes junk foods :hide:), again my weight got increased.

    If u skip junk foods after this diet, u may able to maintain same weight.

    Thanks for your input...:)

    I have gone through the GM diet, and its true that after a weeks dieting, if you go back to your normal eating habits then the weight is bound to creep up. However, I think those who want to take up this GM diet can tweek a little in their normal diet hence, preventing the weight to go up. Its difficult, but not impossible...:)

    Thanks will keep you updated on my results. Hope I get to loose some kgs...:)

    I was searching for "no carb indian diet" and landed on this discussion ladies. Couldn't help but registered. ...Still not too sure whether as I should have..as this site loudly says... "indusladies" ---well no worries...i guess now i can claim to have gone --where no man went before" .. [​IMG]

    anyways.... the subject at hand... i have now in 10 months have successfully lost 19 kg (16+3) weight...and now stuck with last 4 kgs..so trying innovations with diet/exercises... i am posting my experience...hope this story helps you ..

    to begin with --Diet word is a misnomer :drowning ... the moment we say "diet" our senses (all six and another 15 more) get a feeling that something very dear is about to be taken away from us. ..how does one lose weight and why am I talking about it here.... I am 35 and have been about 23 kgs overweight past 6-7 yrs... [​IMG] So ... after "thinking" about losing weight for a while ..one fine day i bought the best reebok in business and went out .. took a looooooong half km walk..and came back home and rewarded myself a really big dinner [​IMG] and then began the romance between me, the walking track and a rewarding dinner...day after day the love grew ..and in the process grew my tummy . ... anyways to cut the the long story short ... the sanity finally kicked in and i realized...to loose weight i must do some maths. If I could create a negative calorie balance of about 1000 cal per day, every week I will be able to loose about half a kg. For that ... day by day ..and everyday ...I reduced 500 cal from my diet and started slow joggin about 2 to 3 kms per day (not at one stretch -- its a walking track of 400 mtr...so I would jog initially 300 mtr and walk 100 mtr..and carry on this cycle for about 10 rounds making it a 3 km workout) ... that was about 8-9 months back. Today I have lost a total of 16 kgs and I can run non-stop for about 6 kms per day ... I have also added strength training to my cardio...I expect to hit my target weight in maximum three more months...and since I am following a scientific approach I know I will not regain my lost weight. I eat a heavy breakfast.... no lunch (only one apple/guava) …every two hours I take 2 thin arrowroot biscuit and I am completely off sweets/fried food... I take early dinner (a brown brd sandwh) and eat nothing after 7 pm. Once a week I eat whatever I want including the most sinful chock pastry possible. ....

    you should focus on following a more healthy lifestyle, this will make your weight loss more permanent :)

    Hi all..

    I just wanted to share my diet. i lost 6 kgs in 3 months. i was 50 when i completed my college. Its just 2 years back. My weight increased upto 60. Iwas shocked when my weight crossed 60. i become overweight.
    I have to travel alot for work. So i dont have time to do exercise more than 30 mins.
    So i planned to follow food diet and joined yoga too.

    I use to do 30 mins of yoga daily. But weekends 1 hour.

    My Food diet is:

    Break fast : oats
    Around 11: carrot and cucumber. and i ll eat some other fruits if i feel hungry
    Lunch: 3 chapathis and side dish without oil in anything.
    Evening: fruits and Juices
    Dinner: Wheat bread- 2 slice & fruits and if i feel hungry i ll take chapathi or juice.

    But i avoid taking high calorie fruits like custard apple, banana etc.
    I avoid milk also.
    July i was 60.
    Now i am 55.

    The diet for weight loss should include all the vital nutrients required by your body. Dieting does not mean starving yourself or taking out any source of carbohydrates and fats from your diet. While you plan your diet, keep in mind that carbohydrates and fats are vital to a healthy functioning of the human body. While it is all right to cut down the levels of carbohydrates and fats in your diet, you must never think of dropping them out from your meals.

    Dont be panic about your weight gain,and dont repeat mistakes of dieting many people have done before
    Avoid empty calories like biscuits,bakery products completely
    Maintain exercise schedule. And if possible read Rujuta diwekars book "dont loose your mind loose your weight"
    Its a perfect book for those who want to be fit n slim in healthy way

    Hi, please dont avoid milk! I see that you have no calcium intake. Women should consume milk/curd ,otherwise it will lead to a lot of complications .
    Also, please dont compromise on nutrients for weight loss, you dont wont to end up with hair loss and anorexia
