Hi sujimalligae, Well,Intake of food depends upon age, height and the activity level.Im 5'7 and weigh aorund 60kgs.Age-- refer profile . My activity is above average as i do all house work and run around my son.I take a cup of green tea in empty stomach. My breakfast is any 1 of the 3 -cereals,bread & jam or pancake around 8:30 am.Then milk with bournivita around 11:30 am. Lunch at 1 pm which would be rice, veg curry, chapathi, yoghurt or any other variety rice.NV would be chicken, egg or fish.If hunger strikes around 3-4 pm i take handful of almons, pista and dates. Then milk at 5 pm. After that dinner around 7:30 which would be pongal or idli or chapathi or dosa. Sometime take fruit after dinner. Additionally sometime i take sweets(homemade),crackers or murukku. First u check u r height and weight using the chart.I think its available in one of the threads. Then decide on ur diet.

Hi, I think the basic problem is that you are at home and don't have much activity to do...and being alone you might not be feeling to have any food all on your own or prepare anything just for one person. So along with a proper diet, i would suggest that you take up some activity which would be of interest to you or pursue your hobbies if you have any. For food my regime is: I get up and have a glass of water, then freshen up have 4 almonds soaked overnight and go for a walk for about 20-25 min. Come back and do some light exercise then read newspaper for some time...then all of us have breakfast together. There is one warm item daily like upma, poha, veg omlette, thepla, instant rawa dhokla etc. also cereal, khakhra, some other snacks or biscuits with milk. Then after an hour i have 4 black dates soaked in some water overnight. around 11.30-12 a glass of lime n lemon juice. Lunch also differs daily...some days its just salads, fruits, buttermilk & juice, some days its an entire meal of dal, chawal, subzi, roti, salad & buttermilk. Some times its a single dish of biryani/pulao n kadhi/raita etc. Evenings around 5 we have a snack...we have a caterer coming with snacks at 5 daily for the entire office staff. So even that varies daily from upma, sabudana vada to pizza. Depending on the lunch we prepare dinner and last some fruits. Intake varies from person to person....a thin person's diet might be more than a obese individual...si it is how well you digest the food and what activities you are doing should also be taken into account while chalking a good diet. When we talk of juices...please don't take the ready ones as they contain a lot of calorie and less of health nutrient...so always prepare fresh juice at home....try various combinations. Hope this helps. And please take care of your health....we have a saying health is wealth. All the best Roopa.

Thanks supriya, chitra and roopa for ur feedback. I just wanted to get a general view of a normal routine. U know here in us we hardly meet anybody and even if u think someone is close to u and ask them such a question they talk v nasty thinking i am acting too much abt not eating properly.I was totally confused with everybody telling me different things and so posted my question in IL. Supriya and Roopa thanks v much for sharing meal plans.I know it is v personal and nobody would like to do it. Dear chitra,i have visited the doctor and my doctor says that all my tests and reports r normal and only thing is i need to gradually increase my intake. tc.. ![]()

Hi Suji, As i mentioned earlier...try to engage yourself with some activities or hobby. so this way it will be easier to kill time. always remember that an idle mind is a devil's den...so don't let yourself get caught in the cluth of the devil. You can also do some course of your interest and then take up a part time job...alternatively there are many options in US where you can help voluntarily....like red cross. In the mean time do take care of your health and try out new receipes so that way you will also eat and maybe your husband will also be happy. Warm regards Roopa.
