    Hello ILs,

    Yeah topic want to discuss is regarding brown...not the color in crayons..but the color in food...yeah, these days all are prefering brown in their food...rather than white or over polished food..

    Brown Rice...

    When choosing the cabohydrates that which to be included in the diet...first comes in the list is brown rice...This carbohydrate will take much time to digest than white rice, so it is healthier choice.

    Brown rice is also helps in proper metabolic functioning....It better to include twice a week in the diet...

    Brown Bread....

    The bread which is prepared by whole wheat grains....seen every where these days. Instead of choosing white bread...brown bread is far better to include in diet...when other wheat products like chapathis are bore in daily meal.....

    While purchasing brown bread....we should notice not only the color brown but also at the ingrediants in it..coz now a days caramel is added to white bread to make it look brown in color..so have to be careful..

    Brown Peanuts....

    Yes....peanuts....are the most nutritious foods that should be included in daily diet..Peanuts are rich in nutrients,minerals,anti-oxidants and vitamins

    These are excellent source for vitamin-E..
    Rather than taking roasted peanuts....choose peanuts that are soaked and drained from water..they remain more minerals...

    ILs... pls add any brown food you know...which are healthy too...add them here:)

    Horse Gram : It treats phlegm,piles.Reduces cholesterol level and helps in weight reduction..It is not advisable to taken during pregnancy.

    Palm Jaggery(Panai Vellam) : Good substitute of Sugar..Treats sore throat..Rich in calcium and iron

    Now adding some recipes which includes brown bread or rice or channa....

    My recipe of brown bread for kids...

    Brown Bread pizza:

    Ingrdiants:

    brown bread- 5 slices
    corn- 100gms
    beans- 100gms
    onion-1
    tamatoe-1
    grated carrot-1/2 cup
    corainder- 1tb spoon
    garam masal-1 tea spoon
    cardamom powder-1 tea spoon
    salt- as per taste
    Mozarilla cheese

    mix all the above ingrediants...take a slice of bread apply low fat butter or ghee for kids...then apply tamatoe sause as required..then spread the mixutre of veggy ingrediants and cover these with Mozarilla cheese as per intrest..bake for 8mts at 200C or 350 F or till cheese melts and bread becom slightly brown

    1.Brown rice is also there(unpolished) which is high on B complex.
    2.Kishmish(currants)
    3.Brown Sugar(don't come to wild conclusion. It is unpolushed sugar)
