Default Book Crossing

Hi all

Did you know about the site BookCrossing.com?? It is all about leaving your book in the wild for others to catch (find) and catching the book from wild what someone has left behind.

Check out the site to know more!

Cheers
Jenz!

HI Jenz:

Interesting!

Though haven't tried leaving my book behind anywhere, here in the UK it is the National reading year, so there was a book week in school - where the school has a visit by an author, a book fair, a reading session when the whole school reads with their close ones in the school out in the open (very nice!) and finally, the children get to dress up as their favourite book character.

Last year, I did read about a book crossing session happening for 15 minutes here in our town but didn't do it myself - can't remember why.

I find the whole concept very interesting.

Hi

Yes, I found it interesting too. But on one hand, I am slightly possessive about my books So thought to myself how ready will I be to leave away a book!!!
Still tried to get on with it while I was in Germany....but finding english books there is an ordeal.
Now back in Chennai.....i know there is a book crossing point....but haven't tried it. In fact I wanted to start a point on my own....though still haven't done anything about it.

Cheers
Jenz

Hi Jenz:

Yes, I am possessive about my books as well, but these days I don't find a lot of books that I would like to keep for myself, so I don't mind exchanging them!

Bookcrossing point in Chennai, very interesting. I need to go back to the site again for more information!

Good luck with your bookcrossing point.

Hi Jenz:

Just thought I'd mention that I am finally releasing a book in the wild this evening. And I can't wait to find out who catches it and what they thought of the book!

13th June was 'Milton Keynes reads together' day and the whole town - especially schools were informed about being a bookcrosser! Lovely idea me thinks! Thought it to be a nice time to join in!

So did you start the bookcrossing point? Here in our town, there are so many bookcrossing points - this idea BookCrossing - The World's Biggest Free Book Club - Catch and Release Used Books alongwith the others like www.readitswapit.com will help recycle a whole lot of books with each ofcourse having it's own pros and cons.
