How did you come up with your baby's name?

Hi all,

Just out of curiosity, im interested to know how IL's have named your baby(s). any interesting story/sentiments/love for a character name,etc..,

To start with ,I had a desire that our baby should have short and sweet name begining and ending with our name's first alphabet. and one day after all research and inquiries with family and friends , and i coined and arrived at "KriyasH". Later found the meaning as creator of victory and also the name of one of the goddess in Lord shiva's tirsul-- Goddess Kriyashakti.

well it took little convicing to accept that as a name for our son form my husband's perspective.. but all ended well.

So, all IL's any interesting stories to share?

nice name it is. Actually when we describe Devi Mata, we used to describe her as Ichcha shakti, Kriya shakti, Gana shakti Swaroopini. so it is a very good name.
I named my daughter " Krithika" because our family god is Muruga". i felt the name should be in association with the Lord. so we named her "Krithika". very soon my second baby was born. being aboy, that too in the star Krithigai, we named him 'Karthikeyan".

from what i know ,soniya = wisdom (pls refer to my earlier reply) and in indian language it means "golden".
