Arulshankar? Arulsyankar? Meaning.

Hi there, I have been frantically looking for baby boy names, and just came across "arulsyankar" in a website that says it's the name of lord Shiva. Does anyone know exactly what it means? (what does Arul mean?) Also, shouldn't it be Arulsankar or even Arulshankar instead or Arulsyankar? The "syankar" part sounds strange to me.

If anyone else has suggestions for lovely boy names for lord Shiva, those are welcome too :D Not particularly looking for short or modern, I think we like old-fashioned.

Thanks a lot! We're finding out the gender soon and already have a girl name (Katyayani), but I want to have a boy name ready before the ultrasound, and it's a lot harder!

ETA: I'm due in June. I think my ILs would like a Murugan name better, but I feel like Shiva would be the right choice, for some reason. So I want to explore that. My hubby ended up okeying Niranjan, but he didn't like Arulsankar after all. We'll see!
