Delhi's heat: how to protect yourself

Hi !!

I am here just to find various ways to take respite from Delhi's heat in this hot summer.

1) Drink lots of water
2) Use sunscreen lotion
3) Drink Panaa etc to save from hot wind.
4) Stay at home as much as possible.

I know how the heat is in Delhi, i used to have Lite Chhacch, Khus Sharbat (cools u internally) in drinks, Panna as suggeted by CHEER is one of my favs which my mom used to make. Keep sipping water at all times.

Also one should always carry an umbrella if moving around in sun... If frequently moving in and out of AC environment, one must switch off the AC 10 minutes before moving out of the house or car, otherwise the COLD of Summers (garam sard) is horrible.

hi all,
How do you make Panna? I am aware it is made from raw mangoes.
Could you please guide?
Chennai heat is also horrible, we could do with some yummy cooling pannaaa...

Hi hasita,
Long back from some site I got this panha recipe . Here it is

2 raw mangoes
3/4 cup sugar
cumin powder and black salt (to taste)

Method: Boil the raw mangoes in water till they are soft .Drain the water and remove the skin from the mangoes and squeeze out the mango pulp .Add sugar, cumin pwd, black salt and mix well. Store in a bottle and refrigirate. When u wish to serve ,pour 2 tblsp of the mixture into a glass and top up with chilled water.
