 Can H1B start a company? My husband is in H1B visa status and I am a H4 visa holder. Do any one of you know whether my husband can start a company here in the US? | The official party line... Akalya, The official party line is that your husband can start a company but he cannot do any work for the company. He cannot make sales calls or sign checks etc. As soon as he starts his company, he needs to hire a CEO, who should do all the work. This CEO should be a Green Card holder or a Citizen.
