Hi Vaishu,
I don't think any vaccination is mandatory. USCIS recommend to take but it is not must thing. I had Tetanus but not MMR. Women who are trying for baby or breastfeeding mom, they are not advisable to take MMR. I guess you are fine.
Here is the link which will explain in more detail http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-693.pdf
Wish you good Luck!!
Tanya

Hi tanya,

Thanq very much for the info.I went through that, that all depends on what doctor has written in the reports in sealed envelope. So just want to findout,if i will be asked to take that sometime later or earlier.Iam trying to wean by son.It could take some time for me wean completely. So just want to findout if any other options available or if anyone faced this situation earlier.

Have a Look at the birth certificate post of mine which I have edited now according to latest info i got.
cheers,
vaishu

Hi Vaishu,

No worries. There are special privileges given to nursing moms as well as pregnant women.

I know my neighbor who delivered her girl baby a month back too is filing her I-485 and did not get MMR vaccination. You just need to get a letter from OB/GYN or Paediatrician to say you are nursing and MMR is not to be given to you.

By the time you get to the last status of getting the green card, you just clear your left out vaccinations.

Good Luck!

Hi,
Tetanus vaccine is safe during pregnancy ,even I had one in germany. It is imp during pregnancy so don't worry. But MMR is not given if u want to conceive or to pregnant ladies.

Vaishnavi ,There are USCIS certified physicians to do medical tests .Vaccinations can be taken outside which can be mentioned with USCIS physicians reports that its taken .But the examinations have to be done by USCIS certified physicians. They know the exact format to send medical forms to USCIS. I did the same and usually lawyers suggest the same(Our lawyer did).It avoids taking tests again which can be quite an expediture.
Ask your physician whether this can be done.
