Problem With H1B Approval Document

Hi Friends,

I came to United States on March 7 2008 on H4 Dependent Visa. My H4 is valid upto sep 30 2009.

My employer applied for my H1B in march 2009. My H1B is approved and valid from oct 1st 2009 to sep 30 2012 but the problem is I94# field is blank in I797A document.

Could you please tell me how to correct my I94# field . I applied for SSN in october and I got it.

Do I need to go to india for stamping immediately?

Did your employer apply with Change of Status? If not, then you will not get I-94.
Also there are two I-797s - one for your employer and one for you.The employer copy will not have I-94. Your copy will have the I-94.

Please check with your employer if he applied with Change of Status. If he didn't then you are already in illegal presence.

Thank you so much for the reply. He applied for COS I have I94 form attached but the number is not printed.
