Immigration to Canada

Hi,

To all those out there planning to migrate to Canada in new future and those who were lucky enough to be there already. I have already applied for PR to Canada, waiting for the file number and as per the requisition preparing to take IELTS, sometime soon. I have lots of queries and also know that maybe many of u out there applying for Pr will also be in the same boat. Lets look forward to see whether we can help each other to realise our dreams..........

Even we hav applied during 2005 and are awaiting...

there is a website www.immigration.ca where in there is a discussion forum where lots of people who have applied for canadian pr discuss their status and current happenings regarding the immigration process...

Thanks a lot..........Luck is what I need right now in plenty.

If I am not being too inquisitive, I would like to know any particular reason for putting your PR on hold..........I am a bit apprehensive about moving the papers right now considering this recession............don't know how severely Canada is effected and I see the Ilites Canada forum is not so active compared to its counterparts...........so no idea about the job market in Canada, anyway the papers will take some time to be processed. Hope by gods grace everything will work out smoothly by the time my PR is finalised.

we have also applied for canadian PR about 2 years back and have even got the file number,,we are not planning to take the IELTS test as its optional and not mandatory,,if u have a good command over english,i dont think so its necessary to take this test...
even though we dont have any predetermined thoughts about canads lifestlye,,,i am really bothered about the weather as i have heard extreme stuff about the temperatures dropping even upto -20,,,,,so that is really bothering us for now...
there is also a yahoo group canadiandesan which is for indian women in canada,it seemed quite good to me..

Aarthi - I was told that the IELTS test is mandatory even if you have good command over english, maybe you having applied from Ireland, it was not applicable , anyway i have applied for the test and started preparing too............ But I never knew it took 2 years to get the file number..........I was under the impression that one gets the file number a few months after applying for PR..............Seems like we are going to have a long wait. Even i have heard about the extreme climate, anyway I have taken the plunge so no looking back now................ and BTW thanks for mentioning about the canadiandesan group in yahoo, i'll have to try it, earlier in the thread Rigama has mentioned about Canada immigration visa and Information on immigration to Canada let me try that too.......Thanks for all the info...........and all the best for your PR.
