Default Re: Applying for passport/visa for a Newborn in US ?

I didn't send any original documents, except LO's passport. That is what was mentioned in the application.

You please go through one-by-one each requirement mentioned in the application and follow it. If it is not mentioned that you should send oriiginal document, then do not send it. Otherwise you will have to run-around to get it back. After all, this is Indian government office.

Angry Re: Applying for passport/visa for a Newborn in US ?

Hello Ladies.....

Am jus fed-up with the Indian Consulate....We are in the process of applying PIO card to my baby (she is now 4 months old) We applied on Oct 6th....and since then we are trying to track the status. And on Oct 15th we got a call from a lady (Indian only) asking the photo copy of my baby's birth certificate. Here I should mention that it is illegal to take photos copy of the birth certificate here in US and the same had been mentioned on the top of the birth certificate itself. We told this to that lady from indian consulate. But she insisted us to send a fax of the same. Though its illegal we did that on the same day. Again from that day onwards we were trying to reach that particular lady to confirm whether she received it or not....(anyways we had the fax confirmation) But no use, no one was there to anser our call....no one picked the phone call.

Again on Nov 6th we got a call from the same lady - again asking for the photo copy of the birth certificate. I told her that we were trying to reach you but no one answered our call. She was laughing. I was really really fed-up with this action. So irresponsible. Again we faxed it.....Thank god this we could reach that lady atleast on Nov 11th and she said she received it and will process it soon. We dont know when it will be processed and my baby will get the PIO card. We got everything on time for the baby - her Birth certificate, SSN & Passport(within 5 days - was a big surprise).......We have plans to go back to India for good at the end of January'09. Am jus praying to GOD
