hi ramyanand,

my husband applied 4 passport renewal recently & we received in 10 days.

u need ur expiring/ expiried passport in orginal & 4 passport size photos,
proof of employment papers, valid US visas.

all these documents need to be notarized, if u r mailing it,

else, u r going in person no need for notarize.

good luck.

Hi Ramyanand.. here u go..

u can mail ur passport appln form to indian consulate. First, submit it online, and then send a hard copy. The supporting docs should be original passport, notarized copies of ur residence proof and legal status proof.. So simple, eh? You'll get the new passport back in 10 working days..

Default Passport Renewal - fast processing available?

Hi,

Could anyone let me know the procedure for Renewing Indian Passport. Any premium processing is available? How long does that take to get my passport?

Thanks in advance,

Goto the website of the Indian consulate which is closest to your city. They have provided enough information about the documents to get your passport renewed.

If you pay for the postal service, they will send your passport to your home address through post. If you dont, then you will have to pick your passport from the counter after 1 week.

For fastest service, go for tatkal. They will process it in 1 day. If you give it in the morning, they will process it and you can collect it by the end of the day.

Some tips:

Take 2 photocopies of your present passport and and go early in the morning like 7.30 (the office opens at 8.30 or 9), since there will be a lot of people in the queue. Take a waiting token from the counter, and wait for your turn.
