Default Experience with Indian Embassy

Hi All,

We applied for our baby's PIO card at Indian Embassy, Washington. We booked our tickets to India thinking that we would receive PIO within 7 weeks from the date we applied. (PIO processing time for embassy is 15 business days) When we called to enquire the status for the first time.(after 4 weeks)...they said that they have processed PIO and would be sending it within a day or two. Now they are saying they have lost our baby's passport!:( :( yes....baby's original US passport. The officials are reckless, and acting as if they have lost something of no value. We have now cancelled our tickets...and are struggling hard to get a responsible reply. Whenever we call the embassy, no one replies. After trying all the numbers 50 times in a day...we are getting someone on the line...but no responsible reply. Has anyone had bad experiences with embassy??

Next time, tell them you are going to report to the police. Since its an USA property they lost it. They can be sued for that.

Tell them, thats what you are going to do, if you don't get any responsible answer.

People are really idiots working up there you know.. GRRRRR
