Query reg spouse name addtion required for US travel?

    hi,
    I have got my L2 VISA approved and will be travelling to US next month
    I have not endorsed my spouse name on passport
    I really dont have enough time to get it done.
    Has anyone travelled without spouse name endorsed on passport
    Can someone pls share your experience on this
    Will it be ok for me to travel without endorsing spouse name on passport.

    You do not need to have your spouse's name in the passport. When I travelled initially after my wedding I didn't have my husband's name on the passport and it didn't matter. We added each other's names to our passports when we renewed them here.

    did you travel alone or with hubby
    am gonna travel alone as my hubby is already in US
    i wil take my marriage certificate along with me, is any other doc required since i dont have spouse name endorsed on passport

    Hi Sudha,

    I too travelled alone once.so don't worry.Have the current residing address.
    Bring the original copy of your marriage certificate.


    Have copies of

    1) His Passport&visa copy(they might ask)
    2) bank statement
    3) copy of I797
    4) last 2 months pay slip
    5) Employment letter




    Can i know where you are going to come?If i remmember will let you know.

    I travelled with my husband. It should not be an issue to travel alone as long as you have the marriage certificate and the necessary documents about residence and his work. Also have copies of his latest pay stubs and I797. Good luck. Do update us on your travel.

    Hi Sudha
    I traveled an year back alone to US after marriage. Initally i too was afraid as i didnt have my husbands name endorsed on the passport.
    but i went to an agent and paid 80 rupees and he did the job for me it took me 2 days.
    But i don't think it is necessary as they didnt even bothers to ask me that.

    As Latha mentioned have all those copies also if ur husband is on extension just make sure u have
    1.his extension copy.
    2.Remember his address
    3.his contact number
    4 .how long he was here
    5.Which company he is working for.

    Coz all these questions they mite ask u when they stamp ur I94 :)
