Default Gender based on Ultrasound

Hi All,

I had an ultrasound at my 21 weeks and it showed a baby girl. The technician said she is very sure. I had it at Tucsan OB GYns. But I was really hoping for a boy, every one in my family also awaiting for a boy. Can this be wrong?Does anyone of you had this experience at same place that your ultrasound was wrong. Please reply me ASAP.

No It cant be wrng as 99% of ultra sounds are accurate, well you can wait and see after 9mnts to confime the same

Well the gender should not matter much , as long as you have a healthy baby.

Baby no matter what gender is a blessing of god.

Be happy and enjoy your pregnancy

you know what I totally understand how you feel.. with my first dd we didn't know what we were having until a week before I asked the doctor about the sex of the baby.. however we were really excited to have her since she was our first.. for my second one who was born just 15 months later then my first one.. I decided to find out at the US and the tech. said girl.. I was really disappointed and kept asking her to recheck.. i so wanted a boy for my second child, even everybody else around me kept saying it will be a boy... trust me I was disappointed a little in my heart till she was born... once they gave her to me after my c-section, all of the disappointment went down the drain.. she was so beautiful, more prettier then my older dd... now I'm a proud mama of 2 gorgeous girls, and i thank God everyday for them..... girls are precious and you will cherish them... its human nature to have feelings, so don't beat your self on it...

as far as Ultra Sound's go they are really accurate... and congrats on your blessing...

Given that you had yours at 21 weeks, I would think it is fairly accurate. Congrats on your baby girl.

dont loose hopes might be in can be wrong during my first pregnancy they told me it was a boy and u wont believe it was a girl.so have faith and what ever the sex after long hours of labour when u see your baby crying for the first time u will forget everything.

desiprincess- Thank you so much for sharing your story. It does give lot of support.
crossiants- I know. I also read lot of stories about wrong ultrasound on net.Even wrong ultrasound when it was done three times. That is why this question came to my mind.

Again thank you all for all your replies.

I believe, US can accurately say if it is a boy,but can be less accurate for girls as they can miss the organ if the baby has crossed his/her legs or if the position is just not right But then, croissants experience say otherwise.

When I delivered, the woman next to me had a boy, although her US said girl. The boy had all pink clothes for him!

RekhaViju - your post made me and my DH smile abt the boy baby having pink clothes for him.

aaaa1234 - My DH's colleague had shared his friend's experience (as RekhaViju had seen) with me a couple of days ago which happend in germany that all along doc said that it was boy and when the baby was born it was girl... but its a rear possibility..

Dont have expectation of US going false dear. Just welcome your little one with whole heart.
