Baby Movements: When can I feel it?

I am in 26 weeks now. and past few days I can feel the baby kicking a lot. Its a new feeling altogether and feels nice about your little one inside you. :)

At the same time, it pains a lot for me below the stomach area. Sometimes, the pain is unbearable. I was worried about it and I asked the nurse about it. She said nothing to worry, the baby is fine. Its just that pain is bit annoying...

I can feel the kicks in the lower part, does this mean that baby is still head up and legs down. Which month does the baby change its position? Might be its too early, but I am excited about knowing all this

How's everybody doing?? Sending a post after a long time. For last couple of days i'm not feeling much movements, my friends says it's okey, i'm on my 28th week. I tried with orange juice, with cold water didn't work for me.

If anybody tell me any way to feel more movements or it's fine.

Inform doctor if u dont feel any movement.

Follow these:
1.Sleep on your left side
2.Have a clock
3.Keep hand in ur tummy, start counting upto 10 kicks in 1 hr u should feel that.
4.If not u should feel in 2 hrs but u still don't feel then call the doctor.

Drink water/juice b 4 doing this.

It will work I have tried.

Actually,sleeping on the left side is generally recommended but if you specifically want to feel the movements,you should sleep on your back for a few minutes,then you will feel it.There are days when I feel there are no movements at all but some days,it is too much,especially after a full meal.

Thanx everybody for ur concern. Yesterday i went to hospital, we listened heart beat & thru machine we saw movements too. & since yesterday i'm feeling movements too. Doctor gave me a chat so that i can track the movements too.

Even some days I have had this fear and as suggested in this thread, I also sleep on my back to feel the movement. After that there is peace of mind for me.

Also while sitting, if i sit straight not leaning on the sofa or recliner, I feel the movements more.

Now that you have had the checkup, all would be fine..

This is my first delivery.Is it too early to feel the movement?
When would i feel the movement?I am very curious to feel it.

Hi Cathy:

Even if the baby is moving you may not be able to feel it initially since this is your first pregnancy. During my pregnancy, initially I felt as if the baby was fluttering within me. Only as the baby grows bigger can you make out the movements distinctly especially the baby kicks!
