Baby Movements: When can I feel it?

Hi Cathy, me too almost same stage of pregnancy as you. Yes it's too early to feel the baby. It'll begin only by end of second trimester. This is my second one so now i can recognise little movements (more like someone blowing bubbles in the tummy) but for my first one i could feel only when it really started to move. Wait for a little while more;) Latha

Also i have a question..When will the baby start hearing my voice?
I have my scan on coming 1st.Literally i am counting days to see the baby thru the scan..

Hi Cathy,
First-time moms usually feel baby movements between 18 and 20 weeks. Look out for fluttery/bubbly kind of movements in your lower abdomen. Real kicks start only after 24/26 weeks and even then they are not consistent everyday until the third trimester (after 28/30 weeks). Moms who have had children before will feel movements earlier 16 - 18 weeks usually. Its a fantastic feeling - the bonding with your baby really increases several-fold after that!

I am on my 25th week and I started feeling the movements clearly and regularly only about two three weeks ago. Even I used to wait to feel the movements from my 17th month, but for first time moms as the others have suggested, it will take some time to realise the movement.

In the evenings, normally if you drink something cold and lie down on your side, you will feel them better.

The baby may be moving.

As you folks say,since its the first time i am not able to identify it properly.

Feeling the movement of the baby may differ from
person to person. When I was pregnant I was eagerly
waiting to feel the movements. It happened only at the
end of 5th month. I felt like flying. First time it may be
like gas trouble. After some focus only I realised the
moving baby. So I think you eagerly wait and enjoy
the movements.

I felt the baby around 16 weeks...but it was a kind of knock from the inside...soon this turned into popcorn popping like feeling and by 24th week it was very regular. Now the kicks have turned into twists and turns as the space in the womb is becoming less by the day!

Please tell me, when I can feel my baby moving. This is my first pregnancy and I am in 20th week now. Still I had not felt any movement. I am little worried. Please help me out.

Don't be worried or stress yourself, you will start feeling little bit in the 6th month onwards.
