Smile Wearing panties affect the baby?

Hi all,
I am new to this blog..but very excited to see the postings...its very useful and supportive. As i am in my 21st week my relatives are advising of me not to wear panties, as it would form a mark on the baby's face. i want to know from u people , like whether wearing panties would affect the baby.

Thanks,
srinidhi B

Srinidhi...

I don't think that has got an ounce of truth in it... In fact, this is the first time I've ever heard of such a thing - Mark on the baby's face...

The panty holds on to any liquid oozing from down. Hence, wearing panties protects you from infection, mucus, urine & during the last term when the head is fixed, thick-pink mucus from the water plug is a good indication of when labour will take place. In case you ever bleed, even slightly, you'll be aware if you are wearing a panty & not otherwise!

Usually if you've been wearing panties your whole life, you tend to feel naked without panties. Going panty-less outside is a very risky thing, espcially if you wear frocks or skirts.

It's always better to wear cotton panties. You also get specific panties for pregnant women.

Enjoy your pregnancy!

Hi Srinidhi,
Welcome to Indus Ladies & to this forum. You can find our forum guidelines here...

I don't thing panties will hurt your baby. Don't wear tight undergarments. That is more than enough.

Congrats on your pregnancy. Eat healthy & take care.

This is the first time that I too have heard something like this! If it were true there would be millions and millions of babies with marks on their faces all over the world

I agree with JustAni. There is a lot of advantages to wearing panties.
I have been reading few books on pregnancy and they all mention it is very important to wear loose and comfortable undergarments. Wearing cotton is very important too. I believe its not an option but important to wear cotton.
You need a lot of air circulation to your vagina. If you feel hot and sweaty may be you can remove the undergarments and let some air flow as needed.
The same goes with bras. Acc to the book, since the boobs get heavier they need support. If you do not support them during pregnancy, the tendons holding them might stretch and they might not spring back and remain sagged post-pregnancy.

Hi,

You can wear the panty on your waist. I do not like the maternity panties which cover the tummy. Anything loose and comfortable should be just fine.

Regards,
Lynette
