Even I got my appointment for the H1N1 vaccine this coming friday. I am planning to take my DH along with me. My gync has strongly recommanded me to take it as we stay on campus and alreday there are 40 cases of H1N1 in MIT. And also another reason is that I travel by subway daily and its also a huge risk. But when I asked if the shot is thermisol free she told me it is not which means that it shall contain traces of mercury.
So I am still debating..if i should take this vaccine or not. But as per the news channels they say that H1N1 is most dangerous to pregnant woman.
What do you all suggest ?? I am so so confused.

Hi,

Am also daily using bus & subways to go to work. I go to office and wash hands well & I sometimes close my nose when I walk in crowd(not always becoz when I climb up I couldnt cover nose since I have to breathe well).

GYN asked me to take long back but after hearing & seeing all these news- am scared to take.

Nov 3rd am visiting my GYN again - so I will mention all these stories, mercury etc etc to her and will ask again.

I am not going to take it for 2 reasons.
I am a homemaker and don't go out much,in fact I am avoiding going out in crowded places because of the flu everywhere.
I am apprehensive about the swine flu shot in particular because it was researched and made in a very short span of time and it seems they are still researching the side effects on pregnant women.

Nonetheless I am still pretty scared and its not easy being so extra cautious so as not to go out when you feel like and I do end up going to the mall and of course for my doctor appointments, so I do get worried about all this.
