Post Suggestions for Baby Items

Hi,

One of my friend is going through her pregnancy period. She had requested her friends network and compiled suggestions for baby items.

I thought it is worth sharing here...the moms-to-be can make best use of the advantages & down-side of the items available in various brands (these brands are mostly US brands).

Thanks to all moms who took their time in sharing their thoughts about the items.

Hi all

It is very nice of Shatki to post all the baby needs list. I just want to give a tip out of my experience for babies to avoid "Diaper rash". My baby has to have lot of diaper rash and it really scared me. When I applied "Desitin" rash did reduce a lot with in no time. But the pain with these ointments is you have to apply them whenever you change the diaper.

One of my aunt suggested me to apply "mustard oil" for massage before bathing for the bones to be strong. I started doing that and it worked for "diaper rash" though I am not sure whether bones were becoming strong or not but rash has been gone since then.

This happened when my baby is almost one month old and now she is 7 months and I never used any diaper rash ointment so far...

Hope this helps your babies too...

That was so nice of Shakthi to have posted that. But I feel all the items are for American Babies. Has anyone compiled list for Indian especially south Indian Kids. If so would like to know

Hi Sankasailaja,
Check out the travel systems by Graco and Evenflo. These are infant car-seats and strollers combos. Though these can turn out to be pricey - in the range of $150.00
For my son I borrowed a good condition infant car-seat from my friend as babies outgrow the infant car seat by their 1st bday. And we bought a stroller from the same brand. This way we spent less - around $75.00. Look at this URL - Travel Systems : Strollers : Baby : Target

I bought a Graco stroller and car seat. One positive of a car seat & stroller combo is that if the baby falls asleep during the ride, you do not need to wake him/her up to transfer to the stroller. You can just fit the car seat on top.

We picked a metrolite stroller because of ease of handling and light weight. here 's the link to it:
