Hi Vasu,

I have no idea about the doctor, but my cousins have some experience with the doctor and they say she is good. She is very approachable and will be available most of the days in the hospital. You may have to work out on the cost anyways, that might be on a little higher side. Check out.

Hi Vasu,

I have no personal experience with either the doctor or the hospital. But, one of my family friends had her delivery at Malar Hospital. Don't know the name of the doctor though. She had a tough time. Hers was a C-Section and she was charged Rs.91,000 for it when she was discharged. She found that a bit too steep as most of the other hospitals (even Apollo) charge around 40K. However, I think it depends on the doctor and on a case by case basis. I would advise that you check up with the hospital beforehand about surgeon's fees and other things that you are concerned about.

Regards,
Poornima.

Dr.Uma Ram Seethapathy Hospital is quite good , known for ethical and a more natural childbirth with husband support during delivery.

You could also consult at EVK Kalyani also known for the same reasons.

If you want apollo then you need to find a doctor who will be ethical, encourage natural childbirth and is accessible.

Where do you live? Remember when you choose a doctor look for :

Ethical reputation and will not do an unnecessary C-section
Approachable and answers questions to your doubts patiently
Privacy and not seeing 3 people at the same
Has a good hospital back up
Will encourage natural childbirth and not push for induction and other interventions for non-medical reasons
WIll allow the support of your husband and anybody whom you choose during labor
Will allow freedom of movement and positions during delivery

Since you are only 7 weeks both Seethapathy and EVK will accept you. Later they will refuse because they cant handle too large number of births.

My best wishes to you.

I agree with Deepa. I have also heard about Seethapathy Clinic. Seems a good place. I saw a thread in this forum where people have discussed about Seethapathy Clinic. here is the link: Seethapathy Clinic, Chennai

About Apollo, one of my friends had a C-Section delivery at Apollo FirstMed. I don't know the name of the doctor, but she found the doctor approachable, friendly and patient. But, she said that the waiting time was rather long. About 3 hours, I think. I think you should first evaluate the distance from your residence to the various hospitals and then short-list one that is convenient for you.

All the best!!

Regards,
Poornima.

Hi Vasu,

I would suggest Venkateshwara hosp in nandanam. I had my c-section there 9 months ago.
Dr name is Shathi Sanjay.
She is best doc for pregnancy. They opt for normal and if extreme case they go for C-section. In my case, they tried for normal for 8 hrs, after that as baby heart was getting low, they went to c-section

She is too good/punctual. Dont see the distance of hospital frm ur home, go to the good doctor.

If any more info required, do ask me..

Dr. Shanti Sanjay is also from the EVK hospital group of doctors and is now branched off and practcing in Sri Venketeshwara hospitals, Nandanam www.vhospitals.com

I have heard that she also prefers a normal birth and is supportive enough.

Vasu - Really sorry, can't help you with both the hospitals. I have not heard anything about these two places. I am sure there are other ladies on this forum who can provide you a lot of information on these two hospitals. All the best! I am sure you will find something that suits you.

Regards,
Poornima.
