Default How to enjoy pregnancy

Hi All ILs,

I am 7 weeks and 6 days.
I have naussea all the time even when i am sleeping. I HATE FOOD. But I am still eating. Also I am not vomiting, yet.

I have lower abdominal pain once in a while for a short time.
I have a hard time sleeping on my left or right. i love to sleep on my stomach.

I hate MILK.
During night i have bad leg cramps and specially my left knee is hurting bad..

I am UNCOMFORTABLE in my clothes

ABOVE ALL..I HAVE A HARD TIME WORKING because of naussea and i am lighheaded, WEAK, dizzy all the time.

HOW DO WE ENJOY PREGNANCY with so much of discomfort. This is my first time and its bad to say but I am not too happy. Everything is AFFECTING BAD on my WORK.

HOW DO I ENJOY ??? What are your experiences

HOW LONG WILL THIS SICK TO DEATH FEELING LAST ??????

Hi Mommytobe,

Congrats on your pregnancy!

First trimester is generally the worst and you are half-way through so that is something really good. Nausea and Vomitting starts around week 5, peaks around week 12 and stops by week 14. I know how miserable it feels but remember that nausea is considered to be a sign that the pregnancy is progressing well !

For nausea and vomitting, try accupressure sea-bands - they were a life-saver for me. You can find it at stores such as walgreens. You put these on your wrists and they really help in reducing the nausea/vommit feeling.

For leg cramps, try eating bananas for pottasium and magnesium. Or take a magnesium supplement called slow-mag, it's found over the counter at all pharmacies.

For clothes, wear loose-fitting clothes. I lived in my gym pants and t-shirts in the first trimester.

For weakness/dizziness, make sure you are eating enough. Drink Orange Juice. You need to keep blood sugars on an even keel. Make sure and have breakfast, otherwise you will feel weak and dizzy. And drink plenty of water/liquids. Eat every 2-3 hours, even if it is just a piece of fruit or a few crackers.

To feel good at work, make sure you are getting enough rest. Take it easy at home. eat out or get your hubby to take over some of the household duties. you are not super-woman who can do everything. you need to rest at this time, especially since baby grows while you are sleeping!

And don't worry, once you are past the first trimester, things will be much better. And once the baby starts kicking, you will forget all the miseries of the first trimester!

it is common to have these symptoms during the first trimester. abdominal pain will go away after a while. ur body is getting adjusted to a new life growing within u. vomiting too will subside. relax, put ur feet up and wear comfortable clothing. u will enjoy urself when u feel ur baby grow within u, and u will say it was the best time of ur life.i have gone through all these symptoms, and in the third trimester ur back will hurt to the point of killing u, but once ur baby is born u will realise how much u have enjoyed it all. it will be a forgotten story!! all the best!!!
