Is Fibroid harmful? Plz help

Hi,
I am 18 weeks pregnant. During my last scan, the doctor said that there are 2 small fibroids. She also added that it will grow along with the baby and will cause slight pains, however there is no need for worry. However I didnt experience any pain so far. Since I couldnt get much information, can someone help me on this? Is there any harm. Please help.

One of my friends had this problem and was told the same thing by the doctor. She delivered a healthy baby. Sorry that I'm not providing you any medical clarifications.

Just wanted to convey a good news to you...

These fibroids are associated with pregnancy or can arise after delivery as well. once your hormones are balanced after delivery they will go away. i had the same after delivery. i m fine now.dont worry. be happy for urself and ur baby

Most often there is nothing that you can do to make it worse or better. But symptoms of abdominal cramping, vaginal bleeding should be reported as soon as possible to your ob. Very rarely these fibroids can make labor a bit more difficult depending on where they are present - in such scenarios the ob will advise C-section. Otherwise up to 80% of women have these fibroids and they generally go away as the hormones reset after delivery, if not, there are simple medications prescribed by ob which will take care of it after the mother delivers.

If the doc ever thinks it is necessary they can always follow up later by repeating ultrasounds to see how much these fibroids have grown. Do not worry and have a safe pregnancy. Good luck.

I have one and I am 13 wks pregnant. The doctor who did ultrasound said it is found in pregnant women and no need to worry. She also had when she was pregnant. Please do not worry much.

Do not worry , Fibroids are common among the ladies of child bearing age. even i had one and had a normal delivery. i was advised to thru a scan and found it no where

need not put much thoughts in this ..........Relax and enjoy ur pregancy .........feel pampered
