Please suggest items to get from India for Pregnancy for 1st time Mom

Hello IL Friends,

My husband is going to India and I would love to get suggestions on items he can bring back from India for my pregnancy and delivery. So far I have thought of the following

1. Nursing gowns
2. Nursing Bras
3. Horlicks Lite
4. Recipe books for infant feeding
5. Bhajan tapes for pregnancy

Please let me know of any other items to add to my list that will be useful.

Hi, this topic has been discussed before... do check out this link http://www.indusladies.com/forums/i-...g-hyd-usa.html. my personal advice on your list: nursing bras get them where you are. because it's better to try on yourself and buy. you don't want to use something that is ill-fitting and be uncomfortable:) Latha

Thank you for the link and advice! Even I was thinking of not getting the bras since I could not try them first and also because I have always worn bras I bought here in USA.

One more suggestion, instead of Horlicks lite get Mother Horlicks. Its specially made for pregnant woman and woman who are breast feeding. Its yummy too.

the best place wud be Naidu Hall. though i got my nursing bras here(us)my mom got me nursing gowns from naidu hall.

By the way, is mother horlicks available in US? Or is there any other alternative available here? I am in my second trimester and havn't touched the milk or yoghurt, it makes me throw up. I want to try mother horlicks.

I am Vegetarian. I try to eat green vegetables, eggs sometime and lentil soups. But my husband is scaring me that if I won't eat non-veg and drink milk or other dairy product, baby will be very week. But I am taking my prenatal vitamins daily. Tell me friends he is wrong. Thank you.

I'm 11 weeks pregnant and even I haven't touched yogurt from the time I became pregnant. But since two days I started having Yoplait Yogurt. It takes different from regular yogurt and as u get it in so many different flavors with some fruit chunks in it (fruit flavors, chocolate etc) u can actually enjoy the taste of it. And regarding milk, u can try chocolate flavored soymilk. It doesn't taste or smell like milk (tastes like a chocolate drink). Or may be regular chocolate milk. I haven't tried regular chocolate milk, so I don't know exactly how it tastes like. Hope this helps.
