Hi: The stretch marks and the veins showing is a part of pregnancy. These stretch marks were sometimes itchy when I had them. You can apply Vitamin E based cream for the stretch marks. I have seen quite a few of these creams in pharmacies. But since I haven't used them during my pregnancies I cannot say how far they help. Sindhu |

My mom has told me to apply Olive oil over the tummy. Olive oil is generally good for skin otherwise also. You can try that. It should help in reducing the itching sensation also

Hi maha, I cant apply during the day as I am working. So I apply 15 mins before bath and then take bath. Using a soap or shower gel does wash off the oil. If you are at home, you can apply during afternoon and let it absorb for sometime. Yes do keep one nighty or old dress reserved for this purpose

Hi ptamil, Let me try to apply as u said..Will have to use an oil that does not make me to catch cold as i have a cold body..Think almond oil or jojoba oil or vit E oil might be of help as traveller suggested... Take Care..

hi maha, i first bought 'pregnancy oil' that we get here... it's a mixture of sweet almond oil, jojoba oil and something else i forgot. when it got over i saw pure jojoba oil (it was cheaper than this special oil) and been using it over 3 weeks now. it has a nice fragrance and is not at all sticky. just gets absorbed into the skin. i don't know if it's because of winter my tummy and breasts are very itchy so i've to apply the oil several times. and i'm only 15 weeks pregnant. for my son i remember it was itchy only from 25 weeks or so. sometimes i've to itch despite applying the oil (and sometimes body cream for extra dry skin) coz it's unbearable. i plan to ask my doc in my next appt in 2 weeks. so what i actually meant to say was... jojoba oil is good. do try if you get it latha

Hi latha, Just last week i bought Palmer's cocoa butter formula as many suggested its good, and started applying it...Its good, i dont feel itchy after using it...Will try to see for jojoba oil as u said...since i am scared to use any oils, b'cos of my cold body, i bought this cream.. Take Care..

hi maha, oh don't worry about oils... you just need something that is rich in moisturising agents and we say oil coz it tends to be pure without any additives. but good quality cocoa butter/shea butter creams are also without much chemicals. as long as it serves the purpose keep using them. latha
