Default Re: Blood sugar variation

Your fasting glucose / pre breakfast sugars are on the higher end of normal , normal values being between 70 and 100. Here are a few things to do in order to bring them lower.

Eat equal amts of carbs and proteins at each meal
Eat very few carbs and mostly protein at breakfast
Walk 10-15 mins after breakfast, lunch and dinner
Eat 3 snacks between the the 3 main meals. Post dinner snack should have some protein and some carbs eg peanut butter and crackers, or sugar free rice pudding or a glass of milk or cheese with crackers.

As you approach week 35 you will see your values inch higher this is totally normal so dont worry. walking is the best way to control sugars if insulin is not needed as well as eating more protein and less carbs.

good luck!

Hasini,

Eat lots of protien. I had same problem and eating lots of chicken and fish reduced my sugar levels a lot...

Eat Wheat Upma Rava daily instead of rice.

Archana

Thanks Mahensa and Archana for replying. I am on strict diet and some days the sugar levels are very much controlled values. So bit relaxed now. Hope things go on like this for another few more weeks.

Hi All,

Found this thread to be very useful.

Reg Saffron intake with milk (supposed to make the baby fairer!), my friend advised me not to take it. Saffron reduces the Hb level and both the mother and baby will be anaemic. Thats why the baby is white in color - rather because of the paleness we also have because of anaemia..want to know whether its true?

regards,
ramya.

Hi Ramya,

Saffron is said to help in development of nervous system like ghee. Not sure how that is linked to a fair baby. However you can start on saffron during the second or third trimester to avoid ill effects.
