Get together of IL ites in Chennai

Dear friends
The day arrived atlast,the meeting of chennai ladies at the house of madam Chitvish.I was determined to attend this meeting somehow and had cancelled all my other visits.Infact I slept for couple of mts in the afternoon and work up with a start lest i should miss the meet.Our car as usual failed to start at the right juncture and had to take an auto.That auto guy dropped me in Justice Sundaram street and simply vanished .Luckily one more fellow turned up and dropped me in front of Chitvish,s apartments.Even then I had my own doubts because I vaguely remembered the name of the flats and the door no(as i was so excited about the meeting I failed to even note down the add).Anyway I thought I would give it shot.Was very relieved when I saw the name plates on the board near the lift.There it was Mr.vishwanathan C2.When I rang the bell it was opened by Bhagun followed by Chitvish herself.Then our friends followed one by one.We introduced ourselves.It was so wonderful to meet my online friends in person.Then we talked about so many things.It was followed by a sumptuous high tea spread by our wonderful CHITVISH .Amazing .How can anyone be so hospitable.Lasnage,CORNFLOUR ROTI,GINGER BONDA,CARROT SANDWICH,IDDLIS to name a few.Ican see mouths watering.................It was followed by gulab jamuns in ghiya payasam.................
Then it was followed by few photo sessions and couple hours simply flew by.
I was amazed how varloo and Lakshmi travelled all the way from Ambattur and Mogappair to attend this meet.So did Hasita .she came all the way from Purasawakam.I should thank my rest of my friends for having made it inspite of their busy schedueles.
I thank Chitvish for her warm hospitality.Her gift and warm letter has already found a place in my drawing room.
i am happy that I joined IL.my late father wanted to be intouch with world always.I thank God for having created an extended family called ''FRIENDS''.I do not have more words to express my joy.God bless all my IL friends and their families.May we have many more such meets.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable meet this evening. It was fun, each introducing herself when entering !

The bonhomie that is the characteristic speciality of I L had to be seen to be believed ! We were perfectly at ease with eachother & had a roaring time.

In the evening of my life when my shadow keeps lengthening and getting darker, nothing gives me more cheer than interacting with people.

I L has brought rainbow in the twilight hours of my life, is all that I can say.

I got lift from Varloo and both of us set out on a girlie ride in her Scooty.
Thanks Varloo for the wonderful drive from Mogappair to Mylapore and back.

As we had already been to Chitvish's place, we found her Apartment pretty easily. We were welcomed by Chitvish and got our selves introduced to the ILites there.
Kavitha Kannan, Sowmya (honeybee), Akhila (AGR), Bhugan, Varloo, Kanaga Raghavan, Chitra ( Chitvish's DIL - akshayashiv), Meenu and of course Hasita (who was instrumental in coordinating the meet) were the ILites gathered to enjoy the hospitality of Chitvish.

We chit chat for a while finding out from which part of Chennai each of us came from. ILites came from the length and breadth of Chennai, as far from Ambattur to as near from T.Nagar.
Sowmya was sweet (true to her login name) to interact with. Akhila was full of energy talking about her life and career as a Company Secratriate and passion for good food. Kavitha Kannan, Project Leader in Wipro Technologies was talking about how she is balancing her work and home. She is blessed with a 1 year old boy Siddarth who is being taken care of by her mother when she has come to enjoy the ILites meet. Meenu, Chitra and Bhugan was very warm and friendly. Varloo was her usual self bursting with energy and sharing her views and experiences. Kanaga Raghavan, clad in a lovely Black cotton saree was very matured and had plesant interaction with all of us.

The evening was fun with lots of chating and lots of food. We were given Malligai Poo in traditional way in a cute bamboo wood basket. It was followed by a Welcome drink.

The spread included Fruit halwa, Inji pakoda with red hot chutney, Ponnakanni keerai Adai with green chutney, Rava idli with Drumstick sambhar, Lasange, Behala bath. Finally it was rounded up with a delicious Doodhi Malai. Hasita bought yummy Gulabjamuns and Kanaga Raghavan got an Almond Bhurfi. Ladies help me out if I have missed out any dish.

As we were eating Kanaga Raghavan was telling us how in the beginning she made sticky upma. All of us were talking about the Kitchen Blunders we did.
we also agreed on one thing that the Indusladies is a safe, clean and very friendly community that bonds us and took us all the way to meet one another apart from the online meet we have just about every day.

Chitvish gave us return gift and also packed some Inji pakoda for my kids. When I gave it to my kids, Apuurva commented that "Romba different irukumma" and Aditi with her usual vocabulary of "Super".

Came home with the heart filled with meeting my online friends.

Thanks for giving the gist of the meet and also vey many thanks for posting the photo, Mrs. Chitvish and also for the menu. It is really mouth-watering.
We are able to see some of the Ilites whom we know only thru their screen name.
I had made it a point to come over to Mrs.chitvish's house when I am in Chennai, to know the secret of her enthusiaism.

Just to taste CV's food , next time I have to meet her in her house next time.. Drool!!
