I was waiting excitedly to read all the comments from our dear members and i was not disappointed.
Bhuvana,Varloo and Lakshmi have done a wonderful job of taking us through the entire evening.I felt very happy just going through the details and My God!What an eye-catching spread that was!Everytime i show one of these photos to my husband my responsibilities here at home increase a thousand -fold.
Varloo,you have described the atmosphere at Mrs.C's home so beautifully i could easily imagine it all.
How could you gals have not taken a pic?That would have fully completed it!
Oh Bhuvana i envy you the most for the obvious reasons!!

Varloo ,Lakshmi and Bhugan have taken the trouble to explain everything in detail.Even though I have not met anybody personally I feel I know each and every one of you.And of course Mrs CV I seem to know you God knows how long.

Right from the entrance to your home to kitchen,They have explained really well and I can picture your house.As far as food and decoration goes I have no doubt since I can see the masterpiece in your postings.

I missed knowing this IL family last summer when we were there in India.But always better late than never.Hopefully next summer:

I am glad that you could all visualise our meeting thro my write up. I feel that IL is bringing out the best in us. Chithra was telling that she felt that her life was over, then IL happened and now she feels young. She may be old in her experience but I felt she is 28, like our Induslad said. I guess we should all feel like that even when we are 90. I have read that Europeans never say they are old. Even very old women present themselves well always. We should also learn to adapt the good aspects from around the country.
And, you NRIs, remember to inform when you plan to come to Chennai.
And Vidya, you are so mean, you hve not posted your photo. I heard that you have send it secretly to your IL mother, that is really not nice. We all want to know you also. So think about it.
In the excitement of meeting, we forgot about the picture, sorry. Next time we will remember to get it.

I have admired my German friends who have always been meticulous about how they presented not only their houses and dinner tables, but also themselves. Dear I'lites
i was overwhelmed by responses to our(Varloo,Laxmi and me) write ups on I'lites meeting in Chitra mami's house. This goes to prove the active and keen interest u show for the happenings of this forum and the highest pedestal uve kept Chitra mami in yr hearts. She really deserves this and much more.
I was amazed at the way we became close in the meeting that never the feeling that its was our 1st meeting crept in. Every one was warm and friendly and there were no ego hang ups.
Varloo, yr fragnant mangoes were immediately turned into 'manga thokku' and i plan to send some to my brother in US. Thanks again for being so kind. Like others i cannot address mami by her 1st name as i'm used to calling her mami for many yrs now and habits die hard, don't u agree Varloo?
SuBa u r justified in envying me as i myself feel that god has been very kind to me by givin such a wonderful lady for a n'bour. We mainly clicked "cos basically both of us r not invasive into each other's privacy but we r there for each other if need arises and we don't chat on daily basis. Mami is very suave and sophisticated and in these 5 yrs i know her she has never gossiped about anybody includin her family people. She, out of humility has said that i as a n'bour will know her minus pts but to b honest with all of u i can vouch that she has none. My hubby has great regards for her and if we were discussin about some problem and i say that this is the solution mami gave me when i discussed with her, he wld readily agree.
I also take this opportunity to mention about mama who is another gem like mami. He may b bit of a reticent but too well mannered. Whenever he sees me in the balcony he wld fold his hands high and wld call out a namaskaram. At times when my guard of my apts is not anywhere around and when my car comes and if mama happens to pass that side he wld not hesitate to open the gates which always used to embarass me as it is humbleness pearsonified for a man of his stature.I hope mami wld not mistake me for takin the liberty of talkin about mama to u all.
