Dear IL 'ites,

Sorry for coming this late into this thread to make a posting. I had very little access to the internet during our trip last week and hence wasn't able to take some time earlier to post about the meet-up.

Now, here starts my search for words to explain how wonderful it was meeting Kamla. We were happy to meet Kamla's husband Mr. Anand and Kamla's Amma too. My God...as we were driving closer to Kamla's place our excitement was overflowing to meet the sweetest in person. When Kamla opened the door for us, we really felt we were meeting up a person that we knew for ages. Her home too like her was filled with full of love and warmth and we could very well feel it. We were happy to meet Mr. Anand, got to hear from him some of Kamla's earlier days in Germany, then about their coming to the US for their daughters and their enjoyable time now with their grand kids. I could see how good a grandpa he is from the way Kavya got attached to him. Kamla's Amma too got along with us very well and I enjoyed her views about some Sun TV serials that she watches with interest to pass her time.

Needless to say about the wonderful rich food spread Kamla had made for us. The pictures would have told you all about the grandness in the foods. By the time we finished the high-tea relishing the ragda patties, Kamla was ready with her dinner spread. The dining table was overflowing with so many yummy...yummy dishes. I liked everything...which one do I eat more was the biggest challenge for me that evening. Should it be dahi bondas, or paranthas with mutter paneer, or ennai kathrikai or rice with zuchini dal, or the pulav with raita & pappads??? Though we heard our stomach scream that it's full, we just went non-stop over all the foods because taste buds kept saying "give me more". Next day morning was another special (asathal) menu, Jey literally drank the sambar made by Kamla. I was filling up myself with Vadai & Sambar. Does the sweets & desserts get more sweeter when made by the sweetest? I am not a big sweet eater, still I could hardly feel the kheer payasam and kesari pass through my throat while the sweetness remained in my taste buds for long. I am 100% sure that IL'ites will have (in addition to Chitvish's) more mouth-watering recipes coming their way if Kamla is to start 'Ask Kamla' forum.

Coming to the lovely chat we had, all three of us (Kamla, Jey & myself) were left to talk about IL'ites and IL to our hearts content. I enjoyed the chat with one of the best moderators we have for the site and we also had the pleasure of taking her views about some of the future plans we have for IL.

We did click a few photos to be shared with all of you IL'ites and I am posting them here. I am sure many of you are eagerly waiting to see the sweetest personality behind the posts full of warmth and kindness.

Two of the sweetest ladies on IL meet up just an hour away from my home, and I couldn't make it.

Dear Malathy, your post made me guilty all over again. Both of you glow in the charm each other exude. Anyway, I got to know there is a 'la ChitVish right here, and I can drop in anytime I want a break from my kitchen. I love the IL shirt, both of you look smart and ready to go!
