Meet At Adyar!

Dear Bhooma,
Nice to read about the Great Meet & Greater Food.

Hi Folks

People around Adyar were heard saying ** Adyar Adiruthille ** on the 19th of January and guess what was brewing at Bhoomas’ house – IL Chennaites meeting.
We enjoyed the most – Varloo, Kanaka, Uma, Lakshmi1945 and of course myself. Lets not forget our new member – Jayanthi. Two other interesting also-joins were Umas’ lovely daughter – and - of course Joswa the bubbly pet dog of Bhooma. Joswa was particularly not too happy about his master getting in all strangers – and well aware of the bad temper that his master can get into at these times.
Chitraji was the topic of the day – the recipes, slokas, dieting, photos and the quite little Gem Remyas Bhagavad Gita. Varloo was always at trying all diet recipes of Chitraji. She touched upon most subjects and was a ready reckoner for all topics.
Kanaka had an interesting background about her name – proposed by her orthodox grandfather - derived from the name of the deity Kanakavallithayar of Thiruvallur Veeraraghava. Wondering if any one else from our team have such kaaranapeyars.
Lakshmi 1945 was of course very nice. She did make some very mouth watering dishes. Having visited the United States to meet her daughters recently – was single- handedly responsible for the meeting.
Bhooma – the lady behind the man – helps her husband at his business, loads of energy and of course was very acquainted with the current goings-on. Joswa obviously kept Bhooma very fit – especially because they walk 4 times a day. A special word of praise for the magnificent way she keeps her house.
Well the best part is yet to come – no prizes for guessing : - the food.

Custard sweet for desserts
Well if anyone wanted to guess about who made Custard Sweet, which if we thought was easy to prepare, turned out to be Varloo – the Custard was made out of Wheat Rava !!
Well – better late than never – a mention about the thengai barfi is never out of place.
With loads of subjects to talk and so little time to speak – like a newly wed couple – it was time to go – first Uma then Kanaka and of course me too – Varloo had come all the way from Ambattur – imagine getting back thru this crowd to the other end of the city.
But we all knew this was just the beginning – and shortly back again at the best thing we like to do – meet another day, a different locale, with another interesting subject.

Just saw the pics gals! Looks like you had a real blast.
I am right about my intuition, it is worth moving to Chennai! What with such wonderful women and such invitingly scrumptious food spread...my my!
I enjoyed seeing the pictures. All of you look very lovely and those colorful clothes, red-orange-blue-browns...and the oonjal again...make the pictures very pleasant!!......I could almost smell the warm air of Chennai! Hmm....:)

The meet at Adyar was wonderful.Thank you ,HOSTS Bhooma and Lakshmi 1945.I am thankful to Lakshmi who inspired me to come.I just went for an hour but the clock kept ticking and did not feel like going home.Thank you IL as well................

Very sweet of you to think of me in midst of a mind blowing meet!! Thank you very much. I missed meeting all "young performers" of IL!! But soon we will come together in another platform to share heart to heart!!

Meena dear, we would have been very happy to have you and Ramya too, we too would have felt like college girls. And do drop the ma'am, we are not your teachers. Didn't you know that all in IL are in their 20's only? Don't make us oldies by calling us ma'am, right? So, when are we meeting next?

Hi Dear Varloo ma'am

You say that you all are in your 20's.....then why 'we too WOULD HAVE felt like college girls' finds its place there???? You surely are college girls but our seniors n not our(Myself n Ramya's) batch mates. You know we have to give respect to our seniors in our college even if they are a few months senior to us..Else we would go through hell..Now it is not the case..We are in our final year n on the receiving side..But even then that has become a habitual action now for us n will never be able to let go it!

Am praying that myself n Ramya should be able to make it for the next meet ma'am..Of course as Ramya has said we will surely gather in huge numbers next time n make it a record breaking one!

If you dont mind can u pls tell us who is who in the pictures posted..I have met Lakshmi ma'am n Bhooma ma'am but not you all..So jus feel like knowing.

Well said. True. All of us (inc our seniors) behave as though we are stuck with "two scary horns" on top of our head when we step into the final year and that one year of seniority scratches our brains to the extent that our juniors do not even know us by our identity (names) but by the tag that "WE ARE SENIORS". ??!!!! This has always bothered me and left me with a thought provoking situation. It still remains to be !!

Ya da, with God's grace we will get together with many new faces becoming dearies to us
