I met our (UAE) Local Champion

Hi Ladies,

I am very glad to share with you my meeting with our local champion Usha Krishnan. I was really interested, excited about meeting our dear friend Usha Krishnan who is really a champion. I accepted her invitation to take thamboolam on saraswathi pooja and she came to pick me up. She took me to her friends house - Sharadha-Hari (i was lucky to see another golu in dubai) and also i had a chance to meet her neighbour- Anu Kulkarni(nice to see navratri celebrated by north indian who was doing fasting for 9 days without eating anything except tea, water, prasad and the matha- pooja arrangement was like a mini golu, excellently decorated by Usha and her hubby Krishnan).

I dont have to describe the beautiful golu in Usha's house as you all have seen it in the thread-Kolu photos. But i should describe bcos i'm the only one who had the oppurtunity to see the kolu in her house(among Ilites). It was a great effort by usha's family putting up an excellent kolu in their living room and they took time not only on arranging the dolls but also on park, room decoration, colourful rangoli done with desicated coconut and food colour, home made chariot (ther) in the park, nice packing of small gifts for thamboolam. It was my first time to attend golu in dubai. I really felt that i was back home in india when i went with her to all the places she took me. One day made the difference for me, i felt i didnt miss golu in dubai, thanks to Usha for calling me.

Now about her - She is a real champion, all the things that she has written in her profile will explain for itself. Her smart daughter Shweta - very good dancer as i saw so many awards and prizes she received for her dance performance. Her son Sri real genius got many awards and prizes for UCMAS, school competitions. I didnt have a chance to meet her hubby Mr. Krishna as he had been to office. Her dreams of making her daughter a very good dancer has come to reality and her son is a upcoming Zakir Hussain, as he is taking formal tabla tution. Her daughter has successfully passed CA foundation.

In short to tell, in one day i know Usha Krishnan as a successful Chartered Accountant, good mother, good neighbour, good friend,.....

Thanks Usha for giving me an oppurtunity to make me understand that how NRI can well live in Dubai and celebrate all festivals as if we are in india.

What a delightful write up about the meet with Usha and her family - this navarathri season has proven to be quite the meet up season for ILites not just in India but also elsewhere - everyone is beautifully dressed up - thanks balamotwani for the pictures!!

Dear Malathy & fellow IL'ites,
Bala's write up shows what a loving, friendly person she is. Yes, We met for the first time, but we took off as we though we know each other for ages. I think that is the power of IL. Malathy, we can never thank you enough for all your efforts.
Now, I think very soon we have to name ourselves as Indus Families.com, because the families are getting closer as well.
We thorougly enjoyed the time to-gether. Hope to have a Dubai IL meet soon.
