Alpa,

You wake up at 4:15am!!! You sure are an inspiration for me. I am still working at it. Wish I could wake up a little earlier. My main problem is getting up early. Once I am up and brush, I am all set but you see that getting up from the bed is soooooo harrrddddd!!!!! Here in the US it is getting colder day by day and they say this year the winter is coming in early due to heavy rains last month. For that matter Georgia is much better but this is also very cold for a person like me who wants to stay in bed as long.
And that is why I love the weekends...ahhh!!! Saturday morning is my favorite when I open my eyes and realise there is no hurry today!!!

Your reply was so inspiring. You surely are doing hardwork....KEEP IT UP!!
I now realise I never helped my mom that way when I was not married and lived with parents. Too late now...

HI adara,

You are making me blush with your compliments. Thank you
i always hada habit of waking up early from my school days as i used to wake up to study.Well my mum tells us that we are going to work and study all our lives and for a girl it is better that she knows how to handle the kitchen and the house before she gets married, otherwise if i get married and don't know any thing your MIL will taunt you saying that "didn't your mother teach you anything"? So in a way its a good training for me as i can handle a dinner or lunch for 20 people on my own we make the menu and i plan myself two days earlier and i know what is to be done and also i set a time limit for myself.
LIke this year on jan 1st my dad's uncle who raised him, his wife, two sons their wives, gand uncles two daughters and their 2 saon in lawa kids of all of them 4 grown up kids our family of 6 people including me, we hosted them for lunch as my dad's cousin sisters leave in UK, i did a italian menu and i mamanged with my mum and the cook it was great cooking i enjoy cooking and i finished in 4 hours.
i think its the early training mum has given me and i feel after my marriage i will be able to look after my house and family well.
Even here its very cold during winter but i can wake up.
love
alpa

Adara - 5.15 AM is early enough according to me. I am not up before 6.00 these days.
Alpa - OMG 4.15AM, I've not even seen 4.15 AM for long time. The only time I every woke up that early was when DD was a baby and would wake up @ 4.00 AM.
I am really impressed with both your early AM routine. I wish I could wake up and go down for a walk or do some yoga....

I am 37 and still working on getting up early....

Alpa, wherever you go after marriage those folks are surely lucky ones to get a DIL and wife like you.

Before marriage the only thing I did is make tea. I learnt that when I was 20 after my mom refused to give me tea and advised me to drink milk twice daily. All my friends used to tease me so I learned making tea and felt proud of it then. When I got married that is all I knew. Hubby was also not very particular of tastes and that saved me. We always lived far from in-laws. All my cooking I attribute to internet. Whenever I had to make anything would turn on the internet and search for the recipe...no wonder mom was shocked at certain ingredients I put for a dish that she makes it too but definately better and different. She was like......where did you learn to put this in dal? And I will be ...."INTERNET"!

Now, what I have done couple of months back is ask mom to write down all her recipes. Next time when I meet her I will get it with me. I want to do like mom since her food tastes much YUMMMMMYYYYY.!!!!!!

Adara

Alpa - I'll try it out! Thanks for the tip.
It's a great feeling cooking for the family. I'm sure you were euphoric after serving your Italian lunch.

Adara - You're not alone in post marriage cooking woes. At least you knew to make a cup of tea. I had no idea about anything remotely relating to the kitchen. I had to start from scratch
