Hi ILites,

I would like to post some tips on this topic....

1. We can put some old newspapers on the kitchen top (granite or marble top), so that while cooking the splitovers and other things like spilling of milk while excess boiling, falling of tea dication would not spoil the granite kitchen top. And it makes the cleaning also very easy. You can easily remove the paper once in a week or 15 days once and just wipe the kitchen top with a sponge and again put some new papers on the top.

2. With Old CDs: On the plain side (shining side) of the CD you can stick some photos like god, butterfly, flowers and decorate around the CD with glowing stickers (this stickers would cost around 5Rs. - 10 Rs.) and this decorated CD can be sticked in the middle of the entrance door, in your pooja room (if it contains pictures of god).

hope to send some more later.

Bye,

Anu

Hi! indusladies,
Here is a recipe i used to make from leftover rice.
Suppose 1 cup of cooked rice is there
Take equal quantity (1 cup) of rice flour
Add 1 medium size onion chopped
1 green chilly chopped finely
little coriander & curryleaves chopped
little grated carrot
Mix all the above ingredients with salt and little water.
The dough should be like chappathi dough.
Leave it for half an hour.
Spread it on a plantain leaf or on a polythene cover
with your hand.
heat tawa and cook these rice spread adding 1/4 tsp
oil till both the sides well cooked
you can also add red chilly powder or pepper powder instead of green chilly.
Enjoy eating with tomato sauce or pudina chutney.

I needour members support for my new thread.

I wanna share some of my ideas with u

curtain with choclate wrappers
  • we need to select some shiny wrappers like gold, silver etc.
  • Fold them vertically and pin them with a stapler and keep aside.
  • If we have colour beeds(no need to purchase sometimes from our hairrubber bands or clips or from purses or from our old dresses will be there)
  • Just how we tie flowers for garland with needle like that we must do with wrappers, but in middle if we have any beeds join them too.
  • U can tie upto the required height.
  • keep wrapper lines how much thick u want the curtain to be(suppose u wanna close the room door fully means u can use that many lines)
  • After finishing lines take a wire or small rod to fix accross the tops of door, tie these lines to that rod.
  • Ur choclate curtain is ready.
  • It will be good for especially for children, even for elders also.
I wll be happy if u give compliments or u can also say if i did any mistke in my thread.

Thanks in advance

IL share some of my more ideas with u if u like this.

Hi Sailaja
As I said before I am also interested to do things best out of waste.

V receive lot of Sweet Boxes during festival seasons. Somme r hving small partitions with gold/silver colours.

I hv covered outside box with cloth and edgs i hv decorated with stones and other stitching material. I took one red satin cloth (got it from my tailor leftover piece) n frilled and arranged as a border to that box. It has become nice partition box with decoration. My second DIL's mummy wil celebrate DASARA keeping DOlls, so I gave her as my gift, so that she wil keep different sizes of pics in those partitions.

I also made one more thing with Flower bq holder.
I got many FBs with different shapes of holders. I took one and decorated it with cloth flowers, laces, chips and some stitched material through out and kept the Bamboo Tree in that. It is my show piece in my drawing room. Last year I made one and now I replaced that with a new one.

Tour soaps small size v wil get in the kirana shop. V can make show piece with that too. For this v need
1. small soap with oval shape 2.alpins(gundu sudulu) 3 small cloth lace/wool of diff. shades
First v hv to pin all the alpins around the soap in three rows.
then starting from the bottom go around the alpin first one step n second step n come down step by step surrounding the alpin. Like wise fill all the alpins. On the top u wil get some space in that keep small cloth flowers or any other decorative pieces. Bottom line wil become as stand. I kept flowers in one which is made of cloth lace and small dalpins in another one which is made of wool. They look v pretty.

I think u like this.

I am also waiting for more ideas from more ILS too.

OK Hv fun bi bi
