| Hi Ladies ! What an interesting and useful thread, thanks to Sankasailaja ! Apart from doing most of what the other women have already mentioned above, I recycle old greeting cards to make new ones. I buy coloured card and using my old greeting cards and other bits and bobs (fabric, feathers, paint, lace, old leather belts, a variety of papers, beads, threads including knitting thread, foam, sequins, ribbons, wax, packaging material and you name it, I create new greeting cards and even sell them ! As you can tell, I do collect a lot of 'junk' from cosmetic cream jars(decorate the outside and store your safety pins, buttons etc. in them) to packaging materials to everything that can be recycled ! If I have leftover coffee decoction I use it on my hair while shampooing and it brings out a rich lustre ! |

| When your lovely glasswares break ..fix the broken parts with quick fix and do glass painting on it...just draw squares or hexagons with lead and fill each with different glass colours.....can use it as flower vase.....pen stand....or keep it simply on a glass table for bigger jar like things.........fill it with 'crystal balls' - (this you can get from shops which look like mustard seeds.. in different colours.. which when put in water will grew to coloured crystal balls)...it looks really great |

| Here's something for uniform storage which many of you probably follow. I have preferred glass bottles to plastic ones for storing spices. Being a fan of Priya pickles, I have quite a collection of the bottles. As they are the right size for my shelves, my spices look neat and organized. |

Yes.. i have a good collection of good dupattas.. i have tried using them as bedspreads, curtains, quilts for my baby, Some old ones i use for packing clothes of ironing. Some plain ones can be embroidered/painted to match another suit/kurta Some could be cut to make stoles, scarfs, etc. |

| Hari om pushpa Nice idea about using cartons.. we also have planted ... instead of lining with plastic, a better idea would be to use old gunny bags made of jute. this retains moisture in the soil and also keeps the roots aerated. Also if u use daily sheet calendar, do not throw away the sheet. Keep it handy at pooja room. After u use the oil can, use the sheet to clean your hands.
