Default Aroma Rice Cooker

Hey Guys,

I recently purchased this aroma rice cooker as my panasonic was getting very old.. Now I am having problems with the rice:water ration. For panasonic, I add 1 cup extra than the usual we do for pressure cooker. I used to get that.. soft "pola pola" rice.. But if I try the same with Aroma.. I get hard ones... "verai verai" rice.. and it sucks to have them with sambhar :(

Pleas help.................

I'm using aroma rice cooker...but guess what I'm having the same prob with the vessel as discussed in the other thread...and so I'm keeping another vessel inside the ricecooker vessel and I'm managing...this is my 3rd cooker after coming to US...

By the way..what kind of rice u use...and what ratio of water..

Try soaking the rice ..say 20-30 mins before cooking...this might soften the rice ...

Hi,

I too have an aroma cooker. the proportion i use is 3.5 cups water for 2 cups rice with the measurement cup that came with the cooker. i use thai jasmine rice and it comes out pretty soft. you may want to try increasing the quantity of water as some types of rice absorb more water than the others.

I am using Aroma rice cooker only. The rice is Priya Sona Masoori Rice. I used to cook rice in 1 cup of rice: 3 cups of water ratio. This is the way how i cook

1. While cooking when all water gets evaporated (make sure no bubbles on the sides of cooker too) you can manually put the cooker to warm state.

2. Then after 10 min or more you can completely remove the cooker from current.

This way i am able to get nice soft rice.
