Dishwasher

Hi friends
I wanted to know whether palstic pots are safe to be washed in dishwashers?I put evrything including plastic and tupperware in it, except nonstick pans.But now my husband is telling me not to put plastic and tupperware in it.He says that as they are unsafe to use in microwave they should not be used in DW too.It may cause cancer!!!!!!! .i know abt microwave but abt DW i am doubtful.All my pots are DW safe(according to the label).Still he is insists not to put them in DW.

i donot think plastic and tupperware are unsafe in dw
i am using it daily and wash in dw.
no harm

I wash my tupperware n plastic containers in dishwasher too
had no problem...

I also put plastic and tupperware in DW. No problems so far!! It is a good practice to stack them in the upper rack of the DW.

Till now i was also washing evrything in DW.But when my husband said that it is unsafe then in some corner of my mind i was scared.Thank you all for clearing my doubt.

Hi,
Only dishwasher safe plastics should be put in d.w. Any plastic ( however good the quality may be )or tupperware should not be used in the m.wave; because harmful chemicals that could cause cancer are released into the food. at high temp. I suppose as we only WASH the plastics, in hot water, it is alright .

WE CAN PUT ANYTHING THAT IS DISHWASHER SAFE. mY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE IS IF I PUT SOME LIDS I FEEL SOME SOFTNESS SOON AFTER IT GETS WASHED. tHEN I WILL NOT PUT THOSE ONES, THINKING THAT IT IS REACTING TO THE HEAT .

I put any item thats marked dishwasher safe into the dishwasher. i put the lids on the top rack.
