hi Vidhu, i am going through same problem, i know that we should reduce salt intake take iron rich food and do some walking. i would like to know if anyone add some more to this. bye padma

The best remedy is to decrease your salt intake, have lots of water, dont stand for too long, and while sitting keep your feet propped on 2-3 pillows . I hope this helps.

My doctor had suggested drinking barley water, soak barley in water for sometime and then drink that water. Some say, this causes constipation.I tried this for a few days when I was pregnant,I did not have any problem. Also, check if you have hypertension. That could also cause this problem.

Dear Lucky, Thanks a lot for ur Suggestions and congrats for ur pregnancy as well. Though im not sure abt other exercises a friend of mine Suggested me to do Ashwini mudirai - movement of expansion and contraction of anus . she told me that this will ensure Normal Delivery.I have already attended KAYAKALPAM Course though. Im not sure abt this either.Do any of the Ladies in this forum have any idea or hint abt Ashwini mudirai during pregnancy? Vidya

Hi Vidhya, Congratulations to you! I am in beginning of 6th month of pregnancy and 3 weeks back I had severe swelling on my hands. I drank lots of Barley water which helped me a lot. Drink at least 3 litres of water every day even though you may not feel thirsty and dont sit or stand for a long tiem without movement. And as for Ashwini mudirai , i guess its the same as "Kegels exercise". It is supposedly very good for postpartum esp for urinary incontinence (Leaking urine while laughing or coughing). For more details you can visit the link below: http://whattoexpect.com/pregnancy/sy...ontinence.aspx I am not aware of how this will help swelling though. Hope this is helpful Cheers, Sreeja

Dear Vidya, to reduce pain of your feet use pillow under your feet while sleeping and while working in chair use a support to give a rest of your feet. 1st of all my suggestion to you to ask your doctor every thing because in pregnancy swollen feet shows many difficulties.Doctor can help you in best way by providing you appropriate suggestion ,medicine etc. I gave birth a normal baby without swollen or vomiting or any difficulties cause I follow my doctors advice each and everything . I didn't hesitate to ask her silly question too.so please make a appointment to your doctor soon. best wishes, ![]() Piu
