Smile Re: Baby's gender

I am 5 months pregnant, we are not yet revealed the gender of the baby. Still we expect it to be gal.

But my FIL wants a boy..

Jus an incident to share with, which happened to my neighbour. My neighbour's DIL was pregnant(2nd child), 1st baby was gal, so MIL was expecting a boy. When gal was born 2nd time, MIL reacted very badly. She started crying as if it was wrong

I donno y ppl are so bad like that..

After 2 miscarriages, all my DH and myself wanted was a healthy baby:) But my ILs sort of hinted that they'd want a boy as if it's in our hands to decide:) at one point my MIL even gave me a curse that i'll bear a girl . Anyways the first one is a boy and we were hoping for a girl this time.... we're blessed (unless there is a surprise at the last minute!). Whatever the baby is we are hoping to give the best possible to make them better humans:)

Looks like this thread is revived after a while... GIad to hear your input, ladies. I think unless people see or go through health issues healthy baby is never a concern and people just assume everything will be fine and only trivial things such as gender and skin color are of utmost importance. Sometimes even life threatening illness do not teach people anything. Oh well it does take all sorts to make this world!!

dear lavanya

i hot upon the thread only today...well when we get pregnant we just pray for a good and healthy baby...my mil has got 3 sons and my mom 3 daughters....and also my daughter was the first grand child in our house.....my prayers were just tht we shud have a healthy baby and we did have one....when we decided for the second one,our aim was tht both the childrenw ould have company for each other...the boy or girl thing never struck us....pregnancy and labour are very very tuff tasks in life which a woman undergoes...pregnancy is a time where we need to be happy always so tht the baby is happy n healthy...so i feel ppl just enjoy ur pregnancy and celebrate whatever child u get.......in todays fast world it really doesnt matter if it is a BOY or a GIRL..but by gods grace i have one daughter and one son and now getting ready for adventures of diff types in life !!!!

lov

Hi Viji,

Just my 2 cents..in india they never tell you the gender until the baby is born.

Rathna,
Dr.Geetha Arjun in Sundaram Foundation, Annanagar seems to have a lot of good reviews both among doctors and patients. May be you can schedule to meet with her first to get a personal opinion and then decide if you want to stick to same doc or not.

Dear Lavanya

I think Dr.Geetha is with EVK Nursing home.Dr.V K Shantha is the one in SMF(Sundaram Medical Foundation).
