| Dear Sujatha, Nice to hear from U. My mother tongue is telugu. How bout yours? Well, Bangalore was a nice place until a few years ago...now the traffic is killing. You cannot go anywhere. The weather is quite unpredictable now-a-days. It's sunshine a little while & rain all of a sudden. This is a city of temples. That is what I like about it. People here are highly religious. They celebrate all festivals. Well, there are a few places to see within the city, but getting to them is a problem due to the traffic conditions. Well, the narrow roads, heavy traffic & now a metro rail going on are the causes for it. I hope this situation will get better in a few years. Infact it is Coorg and Coastal Karnataka that You'll enjoy v.much, if You are interested in both nature & temples. check this Photo, I was looking into a valley at Madikeri (Coorg) bills 062.jpg Truely speaking it is nothing like Organized Singapore. But, Home is home afterall. Hmmm... so much about my front, what are you upto in your spare time? How did U get to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi Yesterday? We had a small family get together & luch @ my maternal uncle's house yesterday afternoon. Well then, I've to head to the heart of the house - Kitchen. Looking forward to a mail from U. Bye Kaumudi |

| Hi Kaumudi, My Mother Tongue is Tamil, but i know to speak Telugu and Hindi also because for 18years i stayed in Hyderbad. After myn marriage i shifted to Coimbatore, HongKong and now i am in Singapore. I think all over India the traffic is killing. If people are highly religious and celebrate all festivals it is good. Here in singapore there is place called Serangoon (where we get all indian stuffs) only that places looks good other than that u do not find any things on the other places. Even during Deepavali u cannot burnt cracks. During the big Indian festivals it looks like ordinary day. But throughout India we can really enjoy and celebrate well. I did not celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi due to some bad news. That is good news u had your lunch in urs uncles house. In my spare time i will read story books, now i am learning to do Crochets, and watch some Hindi drams, and answering the mail of indusladies. bye have a nice day

| Hi Sujatha, nice to hear from U. We both are from Hyderabad. I was there from schooling to P.G. I now know all 3 languages that U know. My mother tongue is telugu, hindi was compulsory as I was in I.C.S.E. board. Then, my husband was born & brought up in Nevyeli. His higher education was in Madras. Well, in his family I'm the odd one out. His elder brother, his Anni, ofcourse my in-laws know tamil extremely well. No, he wasn't my tamil tutor, but my need to interact with the maids in Bangalore ultimately taught me some Tamil. Hey! don't laugh now... I know that isn't much of tamil to claim a hold over the language but, certainly better than nothing...ellia? So sorry your missing so much on the celebration front... But, don't U & your friends meet for lunch or dinner on such occassions? I guess you should start Potluck sort of a thing on these feastive days...then you'd enjoy the festivals. Well, maybe U could put some Vellaku in front of your main door & near the God, though not a great substitute for all the fire works that happen here. Just a suggestion... I hope it's practical. Sarangoon is quite a busy place, I liked the temple maintainance. The equivalent in Bangalore is Iskon temple. What nice books have U read lately? Well, I have to rush to the Car Mechanic...will catch up with U. Hope to hear from U soon. Bye for now Kaumudi |
