Good Gated Community near PSBB Millenium Porur

Hi,
I have enrolled my kid in PSBB Millenium Porur Campus. She starts there in June '11. I am new to Chennai. I am looking for good Gated communities to live in, so that I am not more than 30 minutes away from the school.
What areas / gated-communities should I look for ?

Any NRI parents sending their kids to PSBB Millenium Porur ? How is the experience ? Where do you folks live ?

Hello CHennai Pen

I'm currently in UAE and relocating to Chennai in the first week of April. I have applied for my boys in PSBB Porur and hope we can get admission there. I too plan to take an apartment on rent once the admission is finalised, preferably not very far from the school. I'm hoping to hire an apartment in a good residential area. K. K Nagar, Ashok nagar are the suggestions given to me.

By the way, is the admission for your child confirmed? FOr which class?

All the best to you. i heard that ceebros shyamala has some flats for rent. it is a nice area to live in. one of my friend owns a flat there. she has moved to me, 2 years back renting hers.

you can also check out malles garden. there is a complex on the road after dlf.. i don't know if park dugar township will be far from school.

If you can look any apartments in the following roads it wont take 30mins to travel

1. Kundrathur - porur road (where PSBB is located)
2. Mt Ponnamalle road (either side of porur signal)

there are many apartments behind DLF you can try it... search in sulekha or other sites for the areas Manapakkam, Ramapuram, Porur, Iyyapanthangal, Madhanandhapuram, mugalivakkam etc

Fariy land villas are good, nice villas i would say. My husband's friend own a villa there. We went to visit the villas, but one thing i hate is the road towards the villa is pathetic.. you will get a feel that you are going inside a village...
Unless you have a vehicle to travel by all the times it would he hard to get into the mainroad... always there would be a dependency of vehicle would be there...

Thanks folks for the very useful responses.

Have people moved into the Fairy Land community and started living there ?

I am not sure if any of you has driven to the [FONT=&quot]Alliance Bougainvillea villa community from the Porur main road. That drive from the main road is about 900 meters and is absolutely terrible. It feels unsafe to have to go thru these roads each day in and out of the house.
Is the Fairy Land community equally bad ?

How is Mugalivakkam to settle down in ?

Are you aware of any good gated communities (apartments or villas/row-houses) in Mugalivakkam ?

Check out Malles AV Garden. Not sure about ur budget, but they had semi independent houses available last month. You can contact Malles office for more details.

They are quoting an overall price including land cost. In my opinion, per sq ft rate varies depending on the location of the house and the land area. For eg: They quoted 1650 sq ft house with 980 sq ft land area at 58L and 1550 sq ft house with 1010 sq ft land area at 57L...Both have pretty much the same plans and look alike...this is a tricky situation and dont know which of the two r better buys...might want to take the opinion of experienced hands in such cases.
