Houses for rent in Chennai

Hello friends,
We were been to Chennai for 1 1/2 yr.
from 2003 dec to 2005 May.
That time we paid 4000 Rs rent for 2 bed romm new flat in Perungudi(Kandanchavadi),located on Old Mahabalipuram rd, which is 4 km away from tiruvanmiyur & 3 km away from Tidel park.
7 km away form shollinganallur.

In that 1 yr itself rents raised to 6000.
After that i heard rents increased more...is it true?
Now we r staying in USA.
we want to go to chennai if possible, so i just want to know the rents.

Can anybody plz give me reply about the 2 bed room apartment rents in Perungudi,tiruvanmiyur areas.

This is vidyaram from chennai (adyar). As u hv written here rents are very much hiked. In thiruvanmiyur and nearby areas rentals are depends upon how many sq ft the flat is. An average 800 to 900 sqft means rent will come around 7k or even 8k. 6 or 7 months back i was paying 5k but now i am paying 8k.Most of the owners prefers IT girls and boys as tenants bcoz they can afford to pay more as 6 or 7 persons sharing one flat. Both are benefited.

We are looking for a fat or independant house for rent. Me, my husband and 2 children aged 9 and 3 are moving to Chennai from US around 3rd week in April. I am looking for something in the 1200 square feet range (carpet area). Areas preferred are Mandaveli, RA Puram, Mylapore, Alwarpet, Adayar etc. We are hoping to put our children in Hari Shree Vidyalaya in RA Puram. So we would like a flat or house close by.
