Moving to Chennai...(Porur) Need info...

Hi friends, we are planning to move to chennai by this april. My husband's office is @Porur and I've a 3 yr old whom I need to sent to school next yr. Can u give suggestion on where I should look for apartments with easy access to supermarket, bank, hospitals etc. Also which are the good schools in the area? Or which are the neighbouring areas to look for settling down? In case anybody from there in the forum, can u explain the area?

Porur in chennai is famous for Rama chandra medical college and hospitals which is very famous in super speciality.
It is on the way from Chennai to kanchipuram. Almost 3 years back I have seen, I feel its a like a small village type but everywhere you can get all necessaties. But chennai has changed aaaalooot these days. So, I believe you will get nearby st.josephs matriculation school etc. Just check out different websites, about Porur. Even rents also very reasonable, as most of the ppl are from ramachandra college and hospitals.

im staying in valsaravakkam near porur. its a developed area. as u said there r many good schools in porur but i know only swamy school a cbse school. if u r settling in valasaravakkam which is very close to porur u have a developed neet atmosphere and u have some good schools like pon vidhyashram and la chatline both pf them r cbse schools

PSBB Millennium which is currently near Katipara junction is moving to Porur this summer. My kids study there, it is a pretty good school

I heard abt PSBB Millennium moving to katipara. Is it temperory? Do they have pre KG? When does the admition start? Can you please let me know the exact location?

my kid studying in lachatline lkg, i think both the schools have closed their admissions for the acedemic yr 2009-2010.

My kids got admission at PSBB millennium porur. we have follwoing Q's.?

1) How do the teachers treat the kids ?
2) Is there any practise of spanking or hitting the kids ?
3) Is the school flexible to accommodate parents wishes ?
4) whats are school timings?
5) IN what way psbb millennium benefits from PSBB school and Mrs YGP ?

1.Holy Angels' School ( Admission Starts from April)
2.St Johns School ( Admission Starts from April)
3.Swamy School ( Admission Starts from April)
4.PSBB Millenium School ( Admission over)
5.Ayeesha Razzac School ( Admission Starts from April)
6.MKM School ( Admission Starts from April)

hi Elza,
As Lalitha said, valasravakkam is a better place than porur, coz the traffic is a little too much over there, and it becomes difficult for you to go to other places from there such as anna nagar , nungambakkam etc...,i would suggest you to settle down at valasaravakkam and many schools are near by. PSBB millinium is a good school, but i guess in kathipara, it is there only till 3 or somethg, iam not very sure about it...
if you stay in valasaravakkam, kk nagar is vdery near to you, in kknagar you have PSBB , even virugambakkam will nearer to you, where you have chinmaya vishyalaya.
