Default party decoration

Hi!
Can you give me some ideas for decorating the hall for a party? It should be child-friendly (my kid would meddle with things I place on the floor!) Looking for innovative ideas...

best and easiest thing, which i loved is....you can make small / medium size roses out of satin ribbons or color papers and stick them all over the walls with spaces..in either vertical/horizontal/ some wavy pattern....or some randomly...even u can put it to the cieling also

Thanks Srividhya for this simple yet wonderful idea! I m sure making the roses itself would be a fun-filled activity for my kid. I now remember seeing them in receptions... Thanks for your idea :)

Does anyone have any idea for the table? Or some wall-hanging?

Regards,
Sandhya

You also get these wall papers (like table cloths) in all characters that you simply paste on full wall with cello tape or pins (the wall looks painted like Dora) and then remove it once the party is over - you can reuse it or use it in your kids room in a similar way later on.

It is always a great idea to tie down the balloons to chairs and tables - you can sprinkle some confetti to make the room sparkly - ofcourse the cleaning up is always a problem later on :(

I know this is not something you asked for, but I also made a fruit cake - not a cake cake, but fruit arranged as cake and it was a big hit with all the little kids and the big ones...parents. I did keep some cup cakes for all the children.

Hi,

For wall Hangings you can use some part of your old carpet cut it in a sqaure shape and hang it on the wall in a diamond shape . For table cloth you can use old cotton sarees .

Best wishes,
Cutejen

Thanks Srama and cutejen for the wonderful ideas. I like the fruit cake very much. Will convert the fruit salad I was planning to this fruit cake. Thanks for the picture. Cutejen, thanks for your wall hanging idea too.

Hi

Party Decoration Ideas
  • The main thing to be kept in mind for any party decoration is the availability of space. More the space, more the decorations. If the space available is less, then the venue should be decorated accordingly.
  • You must also keep in concern the mood of the party you are planning to throw. If it is a children’s party the decorations should be funky but if it is some adult party you can do the ambience in accordance with the genre of the party.
  • As far as possible, reduce clutter and make sure that your decoration does not look overdone. Even minimal decoration if done in a strategic way is quite helpful in giving that 'extra' zing to your party.
  • Choose your decorative items carefully and plan accordingly. It is unnecessary to place useless items that have nothing to do with the mood of the party.
  • You must avoid buying ultra expensive items for the party as they become useless after the party, so it is better to settle down with economical decoration items. So it is good to avoid huge chandeliers and vases only if you have a very big budget.
  • You must avoid using extra as well as heavy furniture in the party hall. There should be enough space in the hall to move and dance.
  • Lighting is the most important thing in party hall. So, always keep in concern that what kind of lighting will suit your party and look good in the available space.
  • In case of flooring, it is always good to use a premium quality carpet in the party hall as it enhances the beauty of the hall like nothing else.
Thanks
Have a nice time ahead.
