Tiny rooms can be made to look bigger...

Hi,

We stay in a rented apartment here. One of the walls in the living and bed rooms has been painted with a different color a darker shade - say brown, while the rest are white. I always wondered why this kind of painting :confused:

The recently I got to read in a magazine few tips about home decoration. It was mentioned painting one of the walls with a different darker color will make even tiny rooms to look bigger.

now a days we do like this in our country also. all the major paint dealers
provide us with the most perfect and beautiful combinations of colours.
rooms of children can be made more attractive too.i have tried contrasting combinations in the rooms of my daughters and it worked well

Never knew about this actually! Nevertheless its always good to know things like these. Soon we are also going to move into a new apartment and I will try and experiment with what you said. Looks like this is something thats required to be seen to be believed, else it does not make easy understanding why a darker color would make a room look bigger.
