Thumbs down Re: Available of good Furnitures in Bangalore

hi

Go to Big Bazar, there you can find many kind of furniture, like bamboo, wood and steel. and cheap also. Try. And you can get all the house hold items under one roof.

I got my washing machine, cot etc. from there only. good price and immediate delivery also. try there.

Hi everyone,

As we are moving to a new apartment soon, we need to buy Cot, Dining table, Modular kitchen items etc.

Please suggest me good shops for each of the above in Bangalore. I dont have any idea of buying these things before. So please let me know what are the points i should take care of, while buying furnitures.

Thanks,
Durga

Hi Vani, Durga

Congratulations, if you are moving into your own home.

A few tips for buying furniture. Things to do before you go shopping.

Have a good look around the room for which you are buying furniture.
What are the things in the room that you can't/don't want to change. For ex. the flooring, wall colour, the window frame and door colours(natural varnished wood or painted), the colour of the paint on the window grills. The metal for the door and window handles and the light fittings, if it is silver or gold.

Make a rough sketch of the room and preferably measure the room's length and width. You don't want to end up buying too large furniture and after it arrives, realizing that your house suddenly looks small. Also decide where you want to place it.

Always match and colour co-ordinate as much as possible. If it is an open plan living and dining room, make sure that the wood on the sofa and the wood for the dining table are the same. If it is painted wood, then get the same colour. Try and match the fabric colours on the sofa and the seats on the dining chair. If you are planning to get metal furniture(frames/stand for centre and side tables), go for silver or black if your light fittings are silver, the grill on the windows are painted black, and the door and window handles are in silver.

First decide on the look you want to create for your bedroom. Choose the colour scheme. Decide where you want the bed and how much of the space you are willing to compromise ? Which is more important? Bed size or room space? What item in the room do you want to be the main feature ? The bed, a painting, an ornate dresser... ? If you want the bed to be the main feature then choose a bed frame that is an eye catcher. If you have insufficient storage space in your room, you can get beds with storage underneath. But the main thing you should do is to measure the room and think of where and how you want it placed before you go shopping.

Good luck !
