Golu bommai.......

Hi... Not sure if you are still there looking to buy bommais. But I bought a bunch of papier mache dolls last year from this place called Bhavani Handicrafts. It is right on that little street by Kapaleeshwarar kovil, when you turn in from South Mada Street to go to the kovil. (I think it is called Vaithiyar Annamalai St.) They even packed it for me, so I brought it without even a crack on the bommais.

I got a dasavatharam set, Pandurangar Vithoba bommais, a bust of Mahakavi Bharathiyar, Ramar set. Also got some bommais from Poompuhar in Parry's.

I am coming to India during last week of October 2009. Can anyone guide me the place I can purchase the kolu dolls. I am looking for papermache dolls and also looking for sets like meenkashi kalyanam / azhwar set / brahmostvam set etc.

Best place to buy at wholesale price before navarathri is Kosapettai - go to purasaivakkam and from there any autovala can take you to kosapettai. Dont go in a car - streets are very narrow. Only auto will work
