An entrance to one of our relatives' place is French door similar to this one. And they have the curtains placed in a similar fashion, i.e, covering only the door part and not the arch. This is actually the main entrance. There are no curtain rods to cover the arch.

But, I was wondering, since this is an entrance door, even that arch should be covered , may be use a valance. That being a rented apartment, my relative is sure that box valances is not an option. They can, at the max, get a curtain rod placed over the arch.

How would you all suggest to use other types of valance here, that covers the arch too. Will a lengthy curtain look good, that which starts from/a little above the arch and touch the floor? Or would it give a neat look to get valances? What type of valances would your suggest.. just draping around the rod or something that is sewn and inserted into the rods?

Stained glass painting can be done or bought to measurement and fixed.

thank you..Our sole intention is to completely blind it out.

you see the second pic...the door is similar to that... so, do we get those stained glass paintings or window shades available for those small rectangles??? how much would they generally cost?

btw, what is the hardware for a valance? Can a valance be stitched to the curtain itself and inserted into the rod? Or does it need another hardware other than the usual curtain rod??
