    hi nithya,
thanku! sindhi traditional embroidery is local to the sindh, just lke phulkari is local to punjab, kasuti to dharwad part of karnataka, kantha to bengal!
will try and get some more info about this soon!

    Hi Su,

I liked this post very much. Clear set of instructions and easy to follow. Want to try it sometime soon. I was just curious to know how the design should be transferred to the material? Should we trace it or should we do it using the net, the way we do it for Kasuti? Your inputs will be appreciated.

    Thanks again. Cheers,
    Sunitha

    Hi Sunitha,

I am answering this question for theartisticone

In Kutchwork, the design is traced on the fabric and then the embroidery is done. Kasuthi and cross stitch is done on plain fabric using the net to give you a grid line and to avoid the actual counting of the warp and the weft.
